I have researched hair loss extensively, so I already knew most of these remedies, but I wanted to drop a comment to tell you how well thought out and informative your video is. I will definitely be sharing it with others who are struggling with hair loss. Two things I would add (Hope I didn't just miss you saying these): Have your iron AND ferritin levels checked. Sometimes a low iron or low iron storage issue can cause hair loss. Also, for those who don't know how to find a hair loss specialist, the search term you'll need is "trichologist." This is someone who is familiar with scalp and hair follicle issues. A good trichologist shouldn't just sell you expensive products but rather should assess your individual situation, possibly consult with a medical lab, actually diagnose what kind of hair loss you have, and then formulate a plan to address it. Hope that helps someone. Great job on the video, Katherine. Thanks again!

Yeah, as a 72 yo woman, on top of age and thyroid related hair loss, I’ve also had post Covid shedding. It’s been pretty severe. Thank you so much for posting this multi-pronged approach. I’m likely going to try some of your non-oil approaches and recipes. Right now I’ve been using multiple remedies. The best news is that in the past few weeks I’ve noticed more baby hairs at my hairline. The kicker for me (along with time) I think is that I got serious about addressing it on a DAILY basis. Not washing, but diet and light application. Right now I’m doing vitamin supplements, Veta serum, red light therapy, your weekly oil treatment recipe and rhassoul clay wash. I was gluten and dairy free for a while and when I began eating it again I noticed an increase in scalp issues. I’m also addressing my diet, as diet seems to directly affect my scalp. Also scalp massage - doing it as often as I remember to do so is also something I do. I’m intrigued by that scalp hero thingy - it looks like something I might need to try - easier on my shoulders than my fingers! Also notice it has red light, too!

I have many similar issues: hormones, 67 years old, post-covid shedding. I've also had great luck w/ oils and massage. My diet has always been good, but I added some Chinese herbs to help the blood get to the scalp and combining that w/ oiling and regular scalp massage has been a game changer! Seeing lots of re-growth and MUCH less shedding.

I went into the obsession of using hair powders... I use cornstarch and mix it with cascallia (egg shell powder) and saw some rather good changes in hair texture and regrow and new growth (patching the hairline I was forced with which was nasty and masculine). Anyways today I washed my hair normally with shampoo, conditioner and water, and my hair feels yuck. I could see why people in the 18th century did not bother with watering their hair and just dry shampooed throughout that century or so. I call it chinchilla bath, because chinchilas bathe by dusting themselves. I actually prefer the dusting of my hair over the wash. I washed it today due to preparing my hair for hair coloring next week (root touch up to dye it silver). Since doing the dust for a month, I noted my hair was better managed, easier to style and got baby hair (new growth) in areas I never grew hair before. I am so happy in going 18th century mode with hair care. I can't wait for my hair to grow out silver naturally so I can live peacefully using corn starch for the rest of my existence. After washing it today my hair just feels so thin, and brittle. I hate it. Can't wait for after the hair coloring process next week to go back to another month of just powdering my hair again. I hate how society pressures with the obsession with shiny hair when powdered hair is much healthier for thinning hair or fine, straight/wavy hair and strengthens it to prevent hair loss in the first place. I love how you shared the notion not all hair is the same nor should be treated the same.

Unfortunately my mom never did anything about it so her hair is very thin now but I don’t want to lose my thick hair and I absolutely hate seeing my scalp through my hair in some areas. I’ve been looking up hair regrowth remedies and I just wasn’t understanding anything because my brain wanted it to be like a medicine or like something medical but you laid it out really well for me. Now I understand that there is multiple remedies they’re just not medical and they work for a lot of people so I definitely want to try it. The absolute best thing I ever did for my hair and overall health was moving to a high protein high fat diet. Cutting out simple carbohydrates and all processed food and leaning into a more meat based diet has made my hair longer and stronger, cleared my skin, cured my anxiety/depression, (because our hormones are made from fat so a high fat diet helps to balance hormones) helped me lose weight, and cured my autoimmune skin condition. I had to unlearn every lie I’ve been told about nutrition throughout my life and understand that cholesterol isn’t bad and that dietary fat doesn’t make you fat and is actually good for you. 11:56 If you have Tinea Capitis (ringworm of the scalp- a fungal infection) then you have to talk to your doctor about it and get on an antifungal for at least 6 weeks. Topical treatments can’t penetrate the scalp to reach the fungus and holistic medicines don’t work to get rid of it. With that, clay + ACV do provide a lot of relief in the itchiness and do help clean your scalp. I think they can also prevent the spread of it, but I am not 100% on that. Hope this helps! because I watched these types of videos for 15 years to help my hair and didn’t know any of this. ❤ Also, people who are at menopausal age are more susceptible to getting Tinea Capitis, as are children and immunocompromised people.

Work from the inside out. Go to root cause. Stress effects the adrenals and thyroid which controls hair growth and loss. Eat foods with iodine, in particular Kelp everyday. Guaranteed you will have thicker and more hair in 6 months. Castor oil for external use highly recommended.

I read that when using oils, you’re gonna wanna wrap your head, because it absorbs stuff from your environment… Yes to washing it out! I didn’t know this and got reeeeaaaaallllly sick from not putting a bag and not washing it out, so I slept with it 😭 Please be careful

I have just discovered your channel. [Happy dance] I make a lot of my own beauty and household products and have long hair. I tried the clay wash the other day, and I love it. When I first saw you recommend this, I thought there was no way I was going to try it, but I opened my mind a wee bit, and it is sooooo good. I have been working on my own hair oil for a while. I used some Abyssinian oil in the mix to great effect. I am helping a friend who wants to grow her hair and suffers hair loss on the crown of her hair. I expect you get asked this a million times, but she uses hair dye. Can a woman have good, well-nourished hair if she dyes it?

It's being over stressed. Mine grew back ever since I started deep breathing and taking ASHWAGANDA and 5-HTP supplements and sleeping. That's it. I was massaging the scalp and it still wasn't growing until I worked on my stress. I'm a vegan. I'm not doing anything different in my food intake. But my hair grew back long and thick now.

@@christinaanderson9046 Whenever I condition my hair, I leave the products on for at least 30 min. under a plastic cap. *I only use the okra gel* if I'm experiencing hair fall. It quickly stops the situation. Do it as often as YOU need to because everyone's hair needs are different. I used to do *the onion & garlic* weekly. It gives strength and good elasticity to the hair. I don't need to use it now. *The coffee* is my new weekly jam, and I take *MSM* daily. My hair is flourishing! I hope that helps. ☺

I been cross referencing people like you who have been successful at growing their hair to lushes extraordinary lengths for my grandmother who is extremely self conscious about her thin hair. I have noticed 5 similarities. 1 You all don’t wash your hair every day, only once a week or less. 2 You all use oils to moisturize the older/longer parts of your hair. 3 You all finger comb on a more regular basis and save gentle de-tanglers, boar brush, combs for occasional use. 4 You all use protective hair styles for most occasions and sleeping. 5 You all avoid modern hair products and use food products closer to nature

I found your channel by looking up protective hair styles. I watched several of your hair videos now, and feeling very inspired to try out some of your routines. ❤ I am wondering, do you have issues with your scalp getting sore from the weight of your hair? I find that many updos I do are just not comfortable because it hurts my scalp and gives me headaches. I have collar-bone length hair, but it is very thick, wavy, and heavy 😄

Thanks for your comment! Yes, that can happen if I try a style that is pulling too much on one area of my head. I only try to use styles and clips that balance the weight of my hair over my whole head.

Do you know of a resource you trust that talks about how to identify the accupressure points on your own scalp? I may eventually look into it, but if you have an easy link I can check out, that would be fantastic. I don't want to 'do it wrong' and be wasting time and thinking it's not working. ^.^

The whole purpose of the rinse is to lower the pH and close the cuticle. If you rinse your rinse your reversing those effects by increasing the pH and reopening the cuticle

dear Katherine. I started making my own hair growths oil at the beginning of the year. I mainly followed the recipe I found on your website, containing fenugreek-seeds, amla, neem-oil, MSM, castor-oil and lavender and peppermint-native oils too. I wonder if you have ever added burdock-root to this mix as well? Or have any experience with this root? It's said to be very potent for hair growths as well. But I am hesistant to add something extra to the mixture from which I don't know how this will effect the whole thing in general (I prefer to make a mix which is already proved to be good and healthy and working well... thats why I am extra grateful for your wonderful channel, where everyone can get so much of information and inspiration ❤) do you think I could try to add it? Or better making a separate oil from just the burdock root? Thanks you so much for all the work you do 😘sending smiles

@@louiseswart1315 yes, both regular henna and the regular rhassoul clay are known to darken hair - I did notice a bit of ‘yellowing’ of my silvers, but I did not keep the oil mix _ which is very dark looking - on for more than a few hours and only every 10 days or so. .. I also used the NUDE rhassoul clay (not the darker stuff) and the Hask blue mask, so it’s been okay. Just to be careful, If you’re concerned about the oil mix coloring your hair, perhaps it would be a good idea to swatch a small section before doing your entire head.

Hi, I'm wanting to do the onion garlic juice, while I cook everything with onion I love the smell and the taste, if only I found you before cause I bought an organic caster oil last year and I use it only in my ends cause of my dry and split ends even though I stoped coloring my hair in 2017 I still have dry and split ends but i have to say I get them only on the top layer on my hair like if I do half a pony tail that's where I get the split ends and dry, now I do wash my hair only 1once a week but still have those dry and little split ends who's now driving me crazy because I do oil my ends, what else can I do? Any chance of having some advices or different opinion please 😢
