No one said it’s easier or harder but there’s no excuse or justification for why your hair won’t grow even if it’s 4c. You need to learn your hair type and do what’s beneficial for your goals. Consult a professional stylist and dermatologist. Get on a routine and be patient to see results. If your hair grows slow it will take longer. You have to put in the work to see results. That’s how life works.

@@staceymims4759 keeping hair straight helps it grow better. Less tangles/damage/breakage and more length retention. Genetics only plays a part in how fast the hair grows, not whether it grows *at all* . What I mean by this is if your hair growth is stagnant, it usually (unless you have a genetic/medical condition) means you don't know how to care for it. Hair grows. That's just how hair works. What you're saying is like stating: "skin doesn't heal." Yes, your gentics and lifestyle will affect how *fast* it heals, but not if it heals at all. I literally have a genetic scalp condition that makes it so that I have to make my own products/be mindful of the ones I use and yet me taking care of my hair has helped it grow *way* faster than when I was neglecting it.

I bought off Amazon two Heeta plastic hand held scalp massagers, not painful or expensive. I used one at least twice a day. My dermatologist recommended I start using Nioxin shampoo and scalp conditioner (amazing) and a Tea Tree (Lavender) Mint shampoo & conditioner every fourth wash/conditioning. If you use the same shampoo and conditioner, after prolonged use they're not as effective. My co-pay was $20 for the office visit and another $20 for the extremely painful steroid injections in my scalp, the doctor told me probably wouldn't work after 4 visits without any improvement. I began eating healthier, increased my water intake and took a Biotin supplement daily, need to start back. Stopped the Minoxidil completely. My scalp was completely bald, except for the outer two inches all around my head. I wore a pinned ponytail atop my head everyday or you could see my mostly bald scalp very easily. Postmenopausal and no way could I wear a wig. I've never been patient enough to get braids and they can take away edges. The only hair I had left! I refuse to pay more than $100 to get my hair done, so NO weaves. Within a month, I no longer had any completely bald areas. Thank you God! It's been three years since then and most of my hair is just below my shoulders. It's completely natural and I wear it in a pinned ponytail multiple places on my head. My texture is completely different now, I'm happy with each & every coarse/nappy strand of it, solved by applying Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I spent hours reading articles, watching videos and consulting with dermatologists (worked in medical education). Ladies at least give it a try. Everyone that has used this process has seen significant improvement. With applying Minoxidil throughout your scalp twice a day, how good can your hair really look?

@Mimms S I think that when kinky and coily hair is not hydrated or moisturized to its full potential, it looks like 4c cause the curls have 0 definition. There's no hydration(water) to revitalize the curls and no moisturizer(oils, butters, etc) to lock in the hydration. When I first went natural and whenever I don't clarify, deep condition and steam my hair weekly, and use clay baths biweekly, my hair looks like a fro and my curls have 0 definition. I also have low porosity hair so my hair is really hard to hydrate and I have to be real extra trying to get products to work on my hair, not to mention build up is a bitch. I used to think I had 3c, 4a, 4b hair, but now that I moisturize, style, and hydrate properly, I realize my hair is a mix of 3b, 3c, and 4a curls, much looser than I thought. It took almost 7 years of being natural to finally learn how to care for Stella🥲

Oil and moisture is usually the difference between hair that grows and maintains length and hair that doesn’t. Since Everything doesn’t work for everyone, oil produced by the scalp is the best oil to have, so I typically Cowash and wash with shampoo as needed. My hair was also taking forever to grow, and adding moisturizing products isn’t always going to do it on its own. Gentle and light manipulation was also the key for me.

Yes our hair absolutely grows and retains length even type 4 with tight coils. We mess up our own hair by doing too much(too many wigs, tight styles, tight sew-ins, too much heat, etc) or by neglecting the hair, washing or detangling the wrong way. Keeping our hair is basic styles like braids, cornrows, twists ,etc(without all the added hair and sculpting gels) is the key to length retention.

You can create your own routine that works best for you. I don't think it's impossible to dedicate at least one day out of like 1 or 2 months to just wash your hair and moisturizer it properly also it's not that hard. All you're doing is detangling and moisturizing your hair You don't need to do anything Extra just learn your porosity so you know how to moisturize your hair you can keep your products cheap and simple. She was by no means rude she's just addressing people who are constantly complaining about how they can't grow their hair she's telling them that they can that is not being rude. If you don't want someone to give you hope and tell you how you can go about it then don't complain.

how was it rude? it's literally the truth. learn what ur hair needs and u will see growth. once u figure that out, taking care of it isn't hard and it shouldn't take that long. one day every 1-2 weeks is all u rlly need and if ur rlly that busy then cut it off and stop complaining 💀

@pvrkjecn It was definitely rude because it came off as a very ungrateful response like come on someone gave her a compliment what is there to get offended for? Accept the compliment or don't accept it not that hard but why get mad at the other person as if compliments are some completely bad thing.....

@@livelaughlove5421 I mean it’s the truth. Hair care can grow your hair but sometimes some people just have good genetics. I think for some people they might be mislead to think that you can also care for your hair and it’ll change its type.

@@thecreativeKue genetics can only do so much. Yes, it may help with how fast your hair grows or your density. But, if you’re not taking care of your hair, you won’t be able to retain length and grow it at its full capacity. It will break as fast as it grows. So genetics doesn’t help 100% if you don’t have a good regimen.

Me too girl friend. Learned I tried. Healthy hair starts from the inside out eat well foods that are good for your body and hair. Water is essential to healthy hair drink water instead of all that soda etc. I finally after two + years ( thanks to lockdown because of Covid) took the time to learn what vitamins works best for my hair skin and nails. Use less heat or low heat on your hair. Well all I can say is take time learn about your hair type. I did and I learned the hair products that work best and yes yes your hair well grow. Treat it gentle kind and lovely and it will respond with beautiful

This the truth. My hair won't stop... i thought stress and not eating or sleeping well for a long period of time would cause them not to but nah my hair kept growing and growing to this day.. but i always drink water, like a lot and i massage my scalp ALL THE TIME; ALSO BE GENTLE and pray for everything to flourish God answered that prayer too

You should use the rosemary oil before washing. Rosemary oil can become bacterial if kept on for too long, it can attract dust, and it can clog the hair follicle.
