Thank you, your video helped me figure out the process! I successfully dyed a linen bedding set in shibori technique, and I've never dyed anything before!

Hello, thanks for the video. How long I need to wait to wash for the first time after the fabric or wool were dyed?

Is there a recommendation for drying the garments so there are no lines in them? Or will they go away? You said not to allow them to dry draped over the line. I put my shirts on hangers and I’m finding I the shoulders have yellowed. Thanks!

Thank you for the great videos ! It really helps ! I have seen some recipe using thiaria dioxde as reducing agent. Is it similar to sodium carbonate ? Thank you !!

Hi Melika! Yes thiourea dioxide (sometimes called thiox) can be used to replace the sodium dithionite (aka hydro) with great results. The RIT we use in the video contains both hydro and sodium carbonate so you may need to increase your alkalinity levels. Usually thiourea dioxide is stronger per gram, so you should require less. We are showing using the RIT because the packages come well sealed for individual use, but if you are doing a lot of dyeing we definitely recommend thiox!

mélika Bazin I think the ca(oh)2 settles out more than soda ash but you can try it!

Does the fiber need to have a mordant applied to it before the dyeing process, or is the soaking of fiber in water enough?

How many dips were the dark blue?

Casey Eberlin I think at the end of the video we walk through how many dips to achieve each shade. Indigo should always be minimum 3 dips. Dark denim blues usually dipped at least 8 times. Really depends on the strength and reduction of your vat.
