Hi Ines, Thank you for the video update, one day I will build one, but with a Skimmer ! and you can do a video on my pool. Always nice to see how the pools are doing and hear from the owners if there is anything they would upgrade or change etc. Please address or demonstrate how slippery the biofilm is in the shallow areas so people can see etc especially for smaller children, I think this would be helpful. If you have a customers pool that has a Skimmer fitted as a permanent fixture this would be nice to see even though I realise the design does not need pumps. Keep the updates coming and thank you for doing it in English Blessing and Love

Dear Carl, I'll take you by your word!😉 Thanks for the input, we will keep your request in mind .... - But to answer in short: when we talk about the regeneration zone -- you should not really play around in that zone, but of course you can always use that little path around the swimming zone to walk on. (the "stepping stones"). Those stepping stones, we keep them walkable by turning them from time to time (I explain that in a video). And yes, we have been to a swimmteich with a skimmer. But I haven't translated it yet. - hopefully coming up soon! It's this one on our German channel: kzitem.info/news/bejne/rIKurXWDfKWAoKA Best regards, Ines

What does the drainage pipes and gravel bags do in the regeneration are?
@teichswimmer6746
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Charlynn, The gravel bags make sure that the water can "enter" the gravel case = regeneration zone = aquaculture. That's important to avoid that there is an anaerobic milieu in the gravel case. The same for the drainage pipes. Through them the water can circulate and microorganisms have a place to survive and get more and more. If you want to know more about that, you should watch the interviews that we made with the inventor (the Teichdoctor). For example: kzitem.info/news/bejne/maRv3Iubp5Oki3o Detailed information you find in our book. You could get it here: www.amazon.com/DIY-swimmteich-construction-according-Teichdoctor-method/dp/3950497714 or through our (new and German) homepage: teichschwimmer.com/produkt/diy-how-to-build-a-natural-pool-swimmteich I hope that helps, but pls feel free to contact us for further questions! Best regards, Ines von Teichswimmer

I like natural pools but without a cleaning system it kills the vibe, a lot of people wouldn't take a dive no matter if the water itself is clean just because of the dust gathered in the liner and observable to the eye, I think the wetland system is better even if you do spend in the system but I've seen a lot of people doing it themselves and not buying the aquascape one because of the simplicity of what makes it work

Hi frank, yes I agree to some degree some would not like the algae look or surface pollen ( especially my wife). But saying that bear in mind these pools are not operating skimmers, and are only cleaned once per year !. I'm sure nearly all natural pool owners in Europe clean their pool mainly with robots or manually very frequently..... a lot more than this design. The fact your seeing the pool clarity, with minimal maintenance actually speaks volumes for the design, and that plants are NOT needed. My only concern is how well would this system work if the pool had a shallower end say 3 ft and and the deep end was only 6 ft. ?? I like the wetland design and can see some good benefits for it, but the clean out process after 10 years plus may be a harder than this design ? How well does the wetland system function at keeping good algae down on a liner based natural pool ? Rocks pools look beautiful etc but the cost would be huge compared with this. Look forward to hearing back C

Dear Frank, thank you for sharing your opinion with us. Fortunately, we are all individuals with individual tastes. I see your point, but I have to say that we know a lot of people who wouldn't take a dive if they knew there were frogs and all kind of invisible life in the water..... I personally would not like to dive in water with fish or ducks in it. But that's just my personal preference. As for the cleaning system, a SWIMMTEICH DOES NOT WORK WITHOUT CLEANING SYSTEM. Maybe you have missed that part but the water in a Teichdoctor-Teich is cleaned by the microorganisms in the water - exactly the same as in pools with wetland filter. It's not the plants that clean the water, but the microorganisms. The plants just take the nutrients out of the water. (And give them back to the water as soon as they die off. Then the microorganisms have to work again.) - And the biofilm and everything that comes with it exists in a natural pool with wetland system to the same amount as in a swimmteich! Last, I would like to point out that people do not decide for a swimmteich just to save money by not buying the aquascape system.- As I said in the beginning, in the end it's a matter of taste what you prefer. And that's nice, I think. Best regards, Ines von Teichswimmer

@@teichschwimmer5612 Hope to see some of those swimmteich pools with skimmers in a Video !. This was a great explanation to help many who research the various systems of natural pools, maybe there is another video for you to explain them using the example from your sister pool and the swimtech !

@@teichswimmer6746 I have a question, i'm making almost the same schwimmteich like this one in this video. My question is, how deep andnwide should be the regeneration zone and how high should gravel be? Is 50 cm high and 150cm wide zone of gravel size 16 to 32 ok or should it be 32 to 50 enough? The barrier betwen swimming zone and regeneration zone will be made out of wood boxes like I saw it in your another video.. I thought that my zone will be thru whole lenght of the pool 8 -10 meters. Can i make smaller regeneration zone? Are there any benefits if I make regeneration zone thru all the lenght of the pool? Thank you for answers. Btw. Love this channel and must say that my schwimmreich will probably be the first in our country made by teich doctor methode.

@@mackotnik5644 Dear Mac, thank you for your comment and questions. - So where is it that you will build the first swimmteich of your country? - Naturally, we are always extremely interested in projects that are realized far away. Especially how it is going, what problems you are confronted with and how you are progressing. So please keep us updated and maybe in the end you could give us some contacts for others (nearby you) who could need your tipps. To your questions: As the regeneration zone is essential for the purification of the water it should not be too different. When you build a VERY small swimmteich like this one: kzitem.info/news/bejne/1Xqs02Supn5lqKQ ...... you could make the reg zone smaller. If planning a "normal" sized pool you should stick to that measures: 2m wide, 70-80cm deep next to the swimming zone. - Fill the 2m up with gravel. We definitely recommend to make the reg zone along one length, not less. That is to have enough room for the microoganisms to survive and prosper. If this is too small in comparism to the dimensions of the whole you have the risk that there is not enough microorganisms for the cleaning of the water..... The wooden boxes are great, aren't they? - Concerning this part of the construction, I would like to point out once again that it is important that there are no barriers. The water must be able to circulate freely. - So you are on the right track!! I don't know if you have seen that there is a book with explanations as well. You could get it here: www.amazon.com/DIY-swimmteich-construction-according-Teichdoctor-method/dp/3950497714 or through our (new and German) homepage: teichschwimmer.com/produkt/diy-how-to-build-a-natural-pool-swimmteich Waiting for your answer, Ines von Teichswimmer
