Knowing how clogged my filter was, do you suggest regular maintenance. If so, how often do you check?

My brother in law had the same issue. He asked me for help and this was the first video which came up when I looked up. Man this video was a huge help. I initially couldn't believe such a simple thing could be the reason for such an error code. But I followed the instructions and 10 minutes later everything was perfect. Thanks a lot man!!! 🙏🤝

As others have written, your solution worked like a charm. Thank you so much for posting this. I have two small additions to contribute. (1) My 10-year-old unit does not have the clips that yours has to hold the cover in place. Instead, it has four screws, two at the top and two at the bottom. Removing those screws to get the cover off is trivial, but I'm just pointing out that my unit is slightly different from the one in the video. (2) The screws that the installers used to secure the intake pipe protrude through the case and block the path by which the filter slides out. I had to remove those screws to clear the path and then I was able to slide out the filter (after removing the screw that you warned us not to let drop into the unit). Again, removing those screws is trivial, but I'm just noting it for others who might run into this same issue. Thank you again for saving us the cost -- and hassle! -- of getting a service technician to come to our house to fix this problem.

Just woke up to the WIFE saying- The waters not getting hot! as she was getting in the shower. I checked the heater and the 110 code was displaying. I go to you tube and just like that. A quick and concise cause and solution to the problem. Not a lot of snow on ANYTHING her in Southern California. So I was confident it was the internal filter. My unit does not have the snap straps so a Phillips screwdriver was called to action. 5 screws total/ 4 on the cover and 1 on the filter clamp. Most certainly the culprit. Unplugged the unit (safety First ) Cleaned the screen that had a layer of lint like a dryer lint screen. I dried it and re installed. Plugged it in and was pleased that it had a memory of my settings. I was able to enjoy a warm shower. Not so much for the wife.....LOL. Thank you.Excellent information.

I also got help from someone for further repairs. Your filter clean/fix was spot on, but during the time the system was down, it seemed the overall air pressure was an issue that I was not aware of. I had to bring the pressure back up in the system. Best tip was to make sure that screw did not drop though lol.

This was an exact replacement for the old one that lasted about 10 years. kzitem.infoUgkx7yWIKcrbA9KMHkGSfcgxW2lsjHT6B8Sh The top of my mitigation tube by my roofline was just a 90 elbow which allowed too much debris to fall down into the fan, eventually ruining it. Without this issue, I bet it would have kept running another 10 years. When I replaced this fan, I added an extra elbow joint so the top tube now it does a 180, which should solve that problem. The radon guys around here wanted to charge me a $300 diagnostic fee, then parts/labor (probably close to $600 total). I installed this all by myself in about an hour for the cost of the fan; it would probably be even easier/faster with two people. FYI the manufacturer's warranty greatly differs depending on whether you install it yourself (1 yr warranty) or have a licensed installer do it (10 yrs).

I wish my filter was dirty. My intake and exhausts are clear as is the intake filter. I get E110 about once a month and only way to resolve it it to cut power to the Navien (unplug it), let it restart which inevitably leads to it shutting down with the E110 error again. Repeat 5 to 6 times until if fires up without error. Takes about 10 mins and sure is frustrating.

@@suer1935 I did resolve it. It ended up being the exhaust and not the filter. The exhaust had water getting in so I dried it and installed a pvc that faced downward so that rain didn't get in when storming. The original guys who installed it installed an opening where it was sideways to where rain could get in.
