Its sucks that pretty much no car except for Tesla's, which have been built from the group up for autonomy, have enough steering torque to make a complete turn from a near stop.

To be fair though, torque is nerfed for safety on openpilot. HKG cars have much more steering torque available but are capped at 3Nm for safety reasons. The car is unable to make this 90deg turn primarily due to 1) model and 2) torque controller (potential bug specific to Hyundais?). Looking at the graphs for this turn, the steering torque doesn't actually reach 3Nm, so that's not the issue for being unable to turn. But ultimately you're right, having a car built from the ground up for "autonomy" and a standardized fleet is a lot easier than what openpilot is doing.

Haha no this isn’t in master yet, it’s the “taco” branch, but yes this is navigate on openpilot, where OP will actually follow the nav!

I use either master or sunnypilot, depending on the situation. In this video, it is running the 'taco' branch
