Very helpful. It takes a long time to learn how to navigate the backwaters of the river, especially with water level changing all the time.

I'm not sure why this video was recommended to me, but I still loved this tour of the Mississippi! Also, I wanted you to know the YT algorithm is really working for you and pushing your content! 🥳

This is very helpful. I know you were covering the basic but you missed one area that i think should have been pointed out. The east channel entrance which is below the I90 bridge has a closing wing dam. I hit that with my boat lucky I was idling.

Great video. I visit Pool 9 every summer to fish. Was wondering if you will ever be doing a Pool 9 navigation video? Would be great to hear from a local about some safety tips!!

I plan to at some point, just haven’t made it to pool 9 with the lower water…I’d like to spend a day running around to make sure I remember some of the areas correctly.

For a kayak fisherman, would you suggest the Goose Island are where this is no wake?

Goose Island area is great for kayak fishing. Lots of options that don’t require a long paddle. There’s not much no wake water, so you always need to be cautious in the narrow sloughs when you hear boats running.

Is the current strong around the goose island area? Just wondering for kayak fishing if I’d be able to go back to a vehicle easily

@@Carlitohandlebars it definitely depends on the water levels, but typically there is light flow through Goose. The two main sloughs that go around it may have more of a moderate current and be a pain to go upstream for a long ways. It’s a great area to kayak fish. There’s a few different areas you can launch and you can access a lot of water.
