They have classes on base but if you're stationed on a ship you might not make it to all the classes, but there are tons of online schools that are very military friendly.

I'm not an expert on marine life, but I saw some whales (different types), dolphins, jelly fish, seals, and some other random schools of fish every once in a while. Mind you when I saw these things it was because I was on the outside of my ship standing an underway(out to sea) lookout for many many hours at a time...

They give you an extra 200-300 dollars for deployment pay, and if you have a family (wife/husband/kids) you get extra family separation pay which i believe is the close to or the same amount as deployment pay, as a single e-3 with no family i was making 2k a month in the tax free zones.

Navy divers are in the special forces category so as long as you medically qualify at MEPS you can choose that as your rate but they'll make you pick a secondary rate in case you don't make it through the training. You'll also be in a special forces division in boot camp (they separate the upcoming spec ops guys from the regular navy) but that's only boot camp. Once you go to diving school it gets much more intense and that's where the real training starts.

I still have 9 months left on my enlistment, but depending on what job you have there is a government program called "US MAP" it gives you a certificate of qualification for whatever job you're doing and all you have to do is put in your weekly hours some cert require more hours than others but expect it to be around 4-5k hours. Easy to do in 4-5 years.

I signed up to do a different job but when I went to boot camp they switched it because of security clearance issues (i knew very little about my first job) and everything about the second one I had to choose. As for responsibilities and pay, you won't know where you're going to be or what you're going to be doing as far as things other than your initial job, sailors seriously have 3-5 other collateral duties. Pay varies depending on where you are and if you have dependents.

Somewhat, I just finished my second deployment and I have been able to see about 10 different countries and other territories owned by the US.

try to be at x3 the amount of what you can do now by the time you get to training, you can never be too prepared!

@mercurial0ne I was at my house when I filmed this, but you do you get the option to live in a barracks/dorm with one other person, and each room shares 1 bathroom and washing machine/dryer. so it's 4 people to one bathroom. They also have a place in San Diego called the pacific beacon which is for married couples or single e5 and above. The pacific beacon give you your own room and bathroom and you share a living room/kitchen/washer/dryer with one other person.

I would love to answer your question, but it's kind of vague, would you like to know how we get our jobs? or are you referring to our daily life?

Quick question. You said that you are an e3. It looks like you have your own room. Is that something you get at your rank?? Or is it something specific to San Diego? Thanks

Hey I have allot of questions, are you still in the navy? Did you re-enlist? Aside from those, you mentioned that you will have weekends usually to do what ever you want because you won't be working those days(unless you have to work of course) during those days can you go out of city and/or state as long as you make it back to work that Monday morning on time? How often will you be able to go "back home" and visit your family?

You can choose your job before you go to bootcamp, they'll give you that option. If you're interested in becoming a PT, look into becoming a Corpsman, they're basically the medical side of the navy for enlisted. Also, make sure your color vision and depth perception is good enough before-hand so you don't get disqualified while you're in boot camp. Also, do not go in without an assigned job, waiting longer for the job you want is better than becoming the next paint-chipper.

Awesome, dude im soo thankful for you replying... Do i have to be like a honor student to join the naval academy, and do you think its a good idea to join right out of highschool, based on your experience

iLove2splurge Getting into the naval acad requires a very high GPA in high school and a lot of other things. This website should help. www.usna.edu/Admissions/Steps-for-Admission/ It's probably the best idea to join right out of high school, but don't plan on making it a career until you're around 2 1/2-3 years in (you'll see how the Navy really is by that time). Make sure you get every certification you can. Once you pick a job ask your recruiter about the USMAP program, you won't be able to get anything done until you've finished the school for the job though. As far as attending college, unless you're on shore duty, you won't be able to do anymore than online classes. I hope this helps. Also, a lot of people will lie to your face, or just tell you something they "think" is right. Always do your own research. CYA - Cover your ass.
