totally. I'm a Leafs fan who watched Kadri serve 8 games of suspension over two playoff first-round series in 2018 and 2019. Could have easily made the difference if you decided to just play hockey.. smh

All these high hit are fine. Just ask the NHL. Marc Savards hit by Cooke was deemed clean then all hits to the head are fine.

@@Jim-pq9pm Yes but it's a really really tricky line to create and to know when to draw that line and so the best you can do is to wait to things escalate to a boiling point which they will of course do if it's 2 teams that are getting rowdy, then you act. Preemptive action is more often then not over reaching and goes too far

If your referring to the play against Binnington 2022 playoffs A. Nazem Kadri did nothing wrong, d-man pushed him in B. St. Louis fans brought race into it, sending him slurs and death threats C. St. Louis players would go further and physically attack him as he is defenseless I’m not saying that Kadri was completely faultless here in this video, but I will say this. Instead of trying to kill Nazem, you should’ve focused on winning games, take your second round loss and think long and hard about it. D. The play looked clean, but I think he looked like he was going to run into Binnington one way or another and he was just lucky there was a rebound so he avoids the penalty AND still knocks the 2nd best playoff goalie out. I'd sure have liked to see the Blues knock the Avs out but not sure what chance they'd have without Binnington minding the net.

These types of plays are the risk with his style of play. Especially in the playoffs where he feels he has to be over the top. 😅 I feel like he didn’t target the head, but it still merits a suspension. If he just glided into it then it wouldn’t be as bad, but the little upward motion prior to contact doesnt help one bit. I say he gets 3, which is 6 in regular season games.

What's frustrating to me is that he had the hit lined up very well and if he went for the big hit to the chest, it would've been a great, clean hit and Faulk would've likely been sent off his feet. Then you are a benefit to the team, providing a physical presence. Instead, he goes for the head and screws his team... again.

He’s turning over the puck (100% his fault on the lone blues goal in game 1) and now he gives blues life with another F up. This guy needs a timeout. I'm a Blues fan and a NHL fan I admit you guys have a great team, however Kadri and Jost should both be hearing from the league tomorrow, both committed unnecessary shots to the heads of our Defenseman. The refs have not been in control of this series at all, I'm not saying the Blues are completely innocent by any means, we all love the rough stuff. but I've seen 3 cheap shots to O'Reilly, Faulk, and Bortuzzo, in the 2 games. All I'm saying is the refs better start taking control, or I could see the Blues really start head hunting and nobody wants that, including myself. Friday could get real interesting if the refs don't start taking control of some things.

Taking into consideration that he’s a repeat offender and this hit was right to the head, I wouldn’t be surprised if he got 10. But who knows, Wilson didn’t get anything and what he did wasn’t even a hockey play 🤷🏽♂️

A little to the extreme. And honestly most of Wilson’s aren’t head targeted. But either way Wilson still injures them. Kadri really only does it in the playoffs. He’s gotta remember he’s an Av not a leaf. Doesn’t have to take out a play for a chance to make it past the first round

In minor defense of Kadri, when he did it against Boston, he was retaliating with good reason. Still stupid; don't be foolish, but he was giving some back. His only crime there was not waiting until the following season.

@@aceventura3552 hi, as a female, I actually DO piss sitting down, and I can tell you Wilson’s hit was faaaaar worse than this one. And since the play was over, Panarin had no helmet, had his shoulder not hit first by half a second, it would have been a MUCH worse injury, so yeah, I don’t see “attempted murder” being too much of a stretch :)

The "Blindside" word in the title of this video is dumb.. There's nothing "Blindside" about this hit, if it is then you could make a case for literally every hit being a blindside hit in a way.. He hits him straight up, and its fine.. Guy taking the shot had his head down and got punished. The part that was wrong was he aimed pretty high, had the elbow out/up, and left his feet a bit (front foot). If you're going to tee someone up with a gravy hit like this that is following through on a shot, you need to aim low on the hit.

As a Blues fan I hope Toronto wins the cup. Many Leafs fans cheered the Blues in 2019 now it’s the leafs turn to end their winless streak. The Blues went from 3 import players to 5 important players missing in one game. Kadri is a true coward. This was the only good call made by the refs this game. Poor poor MacKinnon got lightly poked in the hip with that meanie Bozak’s stick, better call a hooking! Best of luck to the Leafs!

Schenn is a coward , kyrou is a coward, perron is coward. I watched multiple separate time when at game 1 when schenn and kyrou sucker punched people in the back of the head with no call. Perron tried hit like this during multiple meeting but couldn't out someone on his ass if his life depended on it.

The hit wasn't blinded sided for sure and it was right in front of him and because he got low for the shot his head was going to be low like any shooter, I thought it was a shoulder to body hit but some say it was to the head it is very hard to tell because of the angles of the video.

To be clear, it's a bad hit. I'm not saying it isn't. That has nothing to do with it. Marchand and Wilson get away with things and Kadri doesn't because Marchand and Wilson are white and Kadri isn't. I don't agree with it but that's the NHL. If you are white you get away with more. That's the NHL's position.

From what I’ve seen the last couple years that’s a clean NHL hit. If Kadri gets suspended for that I don’t know what to think anymore. Tkachuk on Kassian was worse than that and not fine not a suspension for that direct check to the head. I’m interested to see how Parros handles this one

Faulk is coming right down the slot with a great scoring chance. Is Kadri supposed to just wave as he skates by and let him shoot? It's a checking game and Kadri is trying to make a defensive play. The typical social media outrage over this is ridiculous.

I'm an Avs fan and I COMPLETELY support this decision. This is why I didn't want Kadri in the first place, I don't want dirty players on my team and players who do stupid things and get themselves suspended ESPECIALLY in the playoffs. He had been keeping it under control up until now and I was hoping he'd turned a new leaf. I hope Bednar reads him the riot act. No place for this crap in Hockey.

Honestly, you can't even open ice hit anyone anymore without it being considered a "dirty" hit. If the NHL really doesn't want these kind of hits, just make a rule adjustment for the next season outright banning open ice hits and banning fights. I'm sure that will do wonders for attendance turnout in the next season.

Open ice hits aren’t dirty they just look nasty. It’s harder to prepare for them. Open ice hits do tend to more targeted. The knee or head. Hits to the head need to be gone. The worst is open ice collisions. When guys don’t see each other

@@onwingsofshadow not speaking of any other incident I am talking about this one and this is actually the fourth time he was suspended in the playoffs and once just before the playoffs started he has always screwed his team over ... I'm not sure how useful you was to Colorado this season but in the past as a maple leaf he was too valuable to be suspended and unavailable to play because the to Boston series went seven games with Kadri in the lineup maybe the Leafs win one or both of those series... He just gave extra fuel to St. Louis .... I know LKadri doesn't need to score to be an important and effective player so if he is as valuable as he was to the Leafs this could turn out to be.VERY bad for the Avs.

his elbow is tucked into his body and he doesn't leave his feet. like it or not this is a clean hit with zero injury intent other than he was going fast. i dont even think he was taking strides at that point just gliding i dont even think a charge would be necessary honestly . faulk got caught and kadri got penalized is all i see
