In rapid succession: Michael Jordan retired, Shaq and Pippen moved West, and (a couple of years later) Alonzo Mourning had his kidney illness. Simultaneously, Tim Duncan entered the NBA and Kobe Bryant became a star. It's amazing how much difference a tiny number of players could make.
@jameswarner300
2 жыл бұрын
Actually it was earlier than that, because the era Michael Jordan dominated, started in the early 90's, the talent pool had really dropped off, which is how Jordan dominated so badly, it was a very weak era he played in.

2 жыл бұрын
@@sideshowbobsaget8876 I can't even dispute your point because your correct. In fact, during the peak of his career I said his era was weak. However, we should not punish him for being a great athlete ahead of his time, nor should we grade him on that. Because as we all know, Wilt Chamberlain was light years ahead of his peers, as he posted ridiculous video game numbers that will stand the test of time. So should we punish Wilt for the exact same reasons? In other words, leave players in their perspective eras, and don't try to remove and place them in the present. That's like saying lets place Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, and Michael Jordan in the present and see what happens, that's being disrespectful and ignorant.
