TNT has come close as chuck, shaq, Kenny, and ej are entertaining and Mike Breen is amazing . But I would love the privilege of watching NBA on NBC. I was born after the show ended and watching this, I envy anyone who had the pleasure of watching this in the 90s and early 00s

Hands down the best network intro for the NBA. When ABC got the license to cover the NBA games I already knew before I even watched the first ABC televised game it wasn't going to hold a candle to NBC's intro....FACTS

R.i.p Kobe Bryant (1978-2020). 5 time NBA world champion from 2000, 01, 02, 09 - 10. 18 time all star at age 41. Along with his young daughter Gianna (2006-2020) at age 13 died in a tragic helicopter crash accident along with seven others including the pilot on Sunday morning January 26th 2020. There will never be another great player like the black mamba - his legacy & spirit will live on forever throughout the city of Los Angeles.

R.i.p. NBA ON NBC (1990-2002). Extraordinary 12 year telecast run that began at 11/3rd/1990 then ended on 6/12th/2002. Like don't we all agree that we miss those years of professional pure basketball greatness?! 1992 is where i grew up with the league along with my favorite childhood flim Space Jam came 11/15th 1996 in theaters. Teamwork, Defense & Perseverance win NBA Championships. Today's modern era of the NBA is just way too soft.

NBA on NBC did it like no other made the games into a story the gravity impact of the game. They let you know that the game was on and that it mattered the most. This will always be the NBA to me not nowadays kids three pointer telecast with no heart and when you know who will already win in the dull super teams era. Nowadays the tv broadcast won't even let you get into it they just isolate their audience.

This was the second time Larry Bird coached against Phil Jackson in a series. They coached against each other back in 1998. The other crazy part is that Reggie Miller, Dale Davis, Chris Mullin, Jalen Rose, Mark Jackson, Rik Smits, Travis Best, and Derrick McKey lost to Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman in 1998 Eastern Conference Finals and lost to Shaq and Kobe in the 2000 NBA Finals and the 97-98 Bulls & 99-00 Lakers teams were both coached by Phil Jackson. Ron Harper was on the 97-98 Bulls & 99-00 Lakers that beat the Pacers
