As I recall (I could be mistaken), there were 3 people (in this order): Neil McVane (here), Kirby & Blake. Other people tried other means to kill her: 1. in the following episode (season 3 finale cliffhanger) Joseph tried to kill her by trapping her - & inadvertently Krystle - by locking them in Steven's cabin & setting it on fire. 2. Joseph tried to smother her while in the hospital recovering from burns & smoke inhalation from the cabin fire. 3. Kirby tried to shoot her (after previously trying to strangle her) twice - 1st time thwarted by neighborhood watch passing by, 2nd time Alexis talked her down from it, realizing she was incapable of doing it. 4. Sean shot her during a gubenatorial debate - the setup was such it looked like an accident. 5. Sean tried to shoot her when she was taking a bath; Dex intervened - Sean & Dex fought & Sean was fatally shot. 6. on The Reunion Jeremy Van Dorn tried to suffocate her with carbon monoxide by hog tying her & locking her in a shed with a running lawn mower.

I think a few drew a gun on her. Joan never liked action scenes so getting strangled was about as much as she would put up with. In her fights with Linda it was always a stunt double.

Man, this was really a good show. When I was a kid we had to watch whatever our parents were watching, and at first I didn't want to watch Dynasty. I wish they had done this plot a lot later so that Alexis would get a wake up call and actually develop as a character by the end of the series, maybe into a decent woman. It would be perfectly fitting for her to try to be a better person not because of altruism, but because it's a smart move and she doesn't want her ass to be murdered.

This was when Alexis was truly a villain and totally wrecked people's lives. After S4, the (I think new) writers toned her down way too much. They had her say plenty of catty stuff, but that was about it.
@memoir4you
3 жыл бұрын
Not true really . In season 6 she totally went against Blake, for no good reason ( apart from having her ego bruised, ) conning him into a billion dollar debt and stealing the mansion . Plus what she did to Cassie's manuscript . And later blackening Blake's name by headlining him guilty of arson after the La Mirage fire. The writers made her so powerful that Joan was forced to tell them not to go too far.
@petecholewinski8602

@@memoir4you The S6 stuff was - as you mention - for no good reason. So more confused than evil. Anything she did to Cassie could be read as self-defense. Yes, what she did in S7 with the fire was certainly evil. However, that sort of makes my point. In the early seasons EVERYTHING Alexis did and said was clearly evil. There was none of this: "she's bad, but she loves her children" or "she's bad, but it's because she loves Blake." She was a total villain.
