They would not bother anyone. They dont vape or caus graffiti so it will not damage this area . One of them is call Bober. Bober is so chill honeetly I know you wud love him . He is homless because he run out of money to afford a house, he isn’t one of them homless gays that is evil and do drugs and stuff. I just kno Bober would love to live here . If Bober is here for your next visit you could include him in the video as he is so funny and has lots of story and stuff. Hi, I live in Japan and the "frogs" at that one hotel are actually kappa. It's popular to have cute figures of them around onsen. There's so many beautiful areas like this with ryokan that aren't abandoned if people have time to go outside of tourist areas. Nice video Josh, and thanks for showing people another side of Japan outside of the city!

It's exciting to see the complex structures of the ruins. But I was horrified to imagine a big earthquake happening while you were walking down the rotten hallway outside. Continue to be careful!

17:36 The animal is a Tanuki, statues of them are quiet popular. The tanuki's tail means steadiness and strength. The large balls oddly enough represent financial luck. The large eyes are for seeing the capability to judge the environment and making positive decisions. The straw hat on the tanuki's head represents readiness and protection against weather. And theyre cute lil guys too.

Dude! I was on the edge of my seat the whole video. Your work is beautiful. You are a very talented videographer. We share the love of old abandoned things and really good lighting. Haha! I am also from New England, Massachusetts but now living in NC. One of the things I love about NC is the abandoned houses, buildings and barns. The earth just reclaims the property. My favorites are the barns. Stay safe and adventure on. 💜

Thanks for the tour; liked the kappa decorations on the walls and curtains of the hot springs resort. Imagine how bustling it must've been, 20-30 years ago, when it was operational. BTW, that statue was of a tanuki, an animal related to raccoons. And the frog statues are cool! In Japan, they say where there's a frog, there's water. 🐸
