Introduction to Mine and Countermine Operations

Course Overview:
Since their rollout, Alliance Navy forces have begun to adapt to the most common mine tactics fielded by OSPN. The majority of which are rather simplistic mine dumps with minimal support. To increase the effectiveness of mines versus AN forces, more advanced knowledge must be implemented by frontline commanders. This course will discuss those tactics to educate commanders on the goals, methods, and theory of advanced minefields. As well as provide a way for commanders to gauge their effectiveness in real-time. This class will also discuss best practices for both mine deployment and support.
Course Objectives:
By the conclusion of this course, students will be able to identify the five primary effects of minefields and understand the interactions between mine types and the situations each excels in. Students will be able to identify and utilize various minelayers to fulfill different roles within minelaying. Furthermore, students will have an increased understanding of how to gauge their minefield effects and success.
