This is because time functions in a very fluid and flexible manner in the Simpson. The characters don't age in real time, even though the show has been on the air since 1989. For instance, Bart is always 10 years old, and Homer is always around 39-40, regardless of how many years pass in the real world. This phenomenon is sometimes referred to as "animated time," where characters remain stuck in their specific ages while the world around them changes. Despite this timelessness, the show does acknowledge the passage of real-world time and events. The Simpsons' world often reflects contemporary culture, technology, and politics. The family has lived through various decades, but their history and backstories are sometimes revised to fit modern times. For example, Homer and Marge's early dating years have been retconned from 70s to the 90s So, time in the Simpsons is both frozen for the characters and adaptable for the setting, allowing for cultural relevance while maintaining the core dynamics of the show.

The irony is that this is truly based on how the human brain actually responds to this form of abuse. Abusing children in moments of expression only reinforces that their expressions are “wrong” or “unnatural”. Furthermore parents expressing these forms of abuse as “love” misaligns what real love is for the child and creates a self destructive dynamic in which a person doesnt understand healthy love or how to treat themselves with it. @@iMajoraGaming why so hostile? Is this personal for you? If that’s the case then I apologize. I was just highlighting the ambiguity of this field of study. I asked for evidence and they said there were studies done- but no source was mentioned. So I pointed out that there are plenty of published studies that are nonsense; deliberate nonsense. Nothing was cherry-picked. There are literally thousands of peer-reviewed research papers published that are verifiably false. There’s no scientific consensus on this. I’m not saying the conclusions drawn are wrong. In fact, it’s likely they’re perfectly reasonable, but anyone drawing hard conclusions is immediately suspect. That’s all… Really didn’t seem like it was a big deal. And what on earth is “we all knew…” lol? _who_ all? You’re pretty good at drawing conclusions with zero evidence yourself. I don’t really understand why this upset you so much when even the person I was actually speaking to wasn’t this aggressive… I’m just going to assume what I said about this being personal for you hit pretty close to the mark- and it’s not just that you hate when people offer dissenting opinions.
