Great video! I love Ned Rigs; the whole world knows that. But I also love just about anything Finesse as well. That looked like a super fun and successful outing. Good job! You’re the man!!

Definitely a great video to watch as I set up my gear for a trip tomorrow. Finally getting the kayak out again, definitely setting up a ned rig on my lighter setup. Thanks Ethan! Great video

Great video. I’ve recently purchased some drop shot supplies to try it out. Can’t wait to get out there and try it out. You’re vids have helped me learn new fishing styles. And helped me keep my checking account low. Lol

Haha that’s not the intention! But hey, that’s part of fishing I guess?! And I’m glad you are going to try out the drop shot. I’ve caught numerous big fish on it and really love that little rig. Simple yet effective!

I've never tried the Neko. I threw a shakey head for the first time a few weeks ago but I don't think that's considered finesse. Congrats to your cousin Neil for catching his first fish on the Ned 🤙

A shaky head is a bait that can be very finesse or very power. Definitely a wide spectrum and I love those baits 🤠🎣

You smoked em'! What nail weights are you using for your Z-Man baits?
@FishAnything
5 жыл бұрын
Honestly some basic cheap nail weights. I just push the ever-living crap out of them and get them fully submerged in the elaztech so they don’t slide out. If you can get it in there, they will stay in forever (especially with glue).
@HoosierStateFishing

@@FishAnything I do the same. It's a pain to get them into that Elaztech though.

Finger strength. Do your workouts - 5 rubber band flexers & 8 finger curls every 10 minutes at work. You’ll be able to shove a nail weight in whatever you want after just 2 weeks of this physical training. ✋🏽💪🏽

You knew the drop shot would be the best bet! Definitely caught the biggest fish. And yeah I literally have no idea why I haven’t thrown them yet 🤣🤣🤣 I guess that’s my next mission.

Another great video as usual and it looked like a lot of fun. I know the drop shot works, it’s just one of those techniques I don’t like. I really need to commit to using it more. I love the Ned and Neko.

Gotta use what you are confident in! Your water seems a bit more stained than most of mine so the shallower baits like ned and Neko might work best. That said, I’m sure the drop shot will surprise you once you start using it more. Throw a big 6” morning dawn roboworm if you have any spotted bass in them southern waters of yours!

Great video as usual, was that we not surprised by the results. Is the definite time of year for the Finesse style fishing. I have never used a Neko rig but I will definitely give it a try

Thanks! Yeah I figured all three would produce so I thought it was a fun video idea. Good luck with the Neko! It’s a pretty good rig 🤠

When you say it is too shallow for a drop shot what depth are you referring to? I’m on a lake this week with a decent amount of grass and feel like the drop shot is my best finesse technique. What do you think is optimum depth for drop shoting?
@FishAnything
5 жыл бұрын
I probably shouldn’t have said that because a drop shot is fine in shallow water! I just have a ton of grass so the ned or Neko perform better than a drop shot due to the way they ride through the water and over the grass. It is harder to effectively present a drop shot in ultra shallow water with lots of grass because I can’t get a natural retrieve going. Generally speaking, I do prefer to toss a drop shot in 5+ feet of water and usually I target weed edges or some form of structure like a point or hump. Good luck Spencer!

oh man @8:32 that's some sweet ol' irky ribbontail water right there, I'da swam one allover that to see if something suspending in it. a fat/flat-nosed 6-8" grubtail would get it done too (5-6" light invisi-leader wire too just in case).

it's not even often at all, but I've pulled a few fish out of spots just like that and 9 outta 10 times when I have it's something big with half the time it being something pretty toothy! of course, now that I think about it those small compact 1/8th oz. spinnerbaits do just as well too.
