You can find a path to recovery, I no longer hear my Tinnitus , silence has returned to me , the most significant factor in getting to where I am now ... not hearing my Tinnitus ... was and is ... mindset ... Hi Ade, I have learned a lot about our brain and stresscenters. How did you train yourself to remove T from your conciousness? You talk about mindset. Can you explain what kind of a mindset you had? Is it a mindset of: hearing tinnitus and not give a care or a thought to it. Focussing yourself on life and positive things and fill your mind with that? I think there are 2 things we got to do. 1 is not caring about tinnitus. In fact we need to welcome it as a friend that can remind us of taking care of ourselfs. And 2 is to calm down the nervoussystem/amygdala/Limbic system etc. by doing things that we love, feel happy! What do you think?

I have tinnitus 7months already. I was reading different comments of people writing that tinnitus will definitely go away and it will pass and I never believed them truly. But here I am, my tinnitus is starting to go away, some days its really quite, some days its 4-5 out of 10. @@susy841 I'm 31. There were days when I thought Im definitely going crazy because of sounds. I couldn't sleep at nights, I was having anxiety attacks. And suddenly I had tinnitus in my 2 ears. It was hell. You just need time and concentration to your body. Be physically active, exercise more, be with your loved ones, talk more about it. The important thing is to really understand that this is not dangerous at all and your mind have to be in peace. It will go away, your not alone. Also I'm taking magnesium for my sleep, it helps a lot. Sound therapy is not really for me, but you can try it out and see. Even now I'm writing and I still have tinnitus, sometimes it's really loud, sometimes it's 4-5, sometimes it's completely gone. But I'm not scared, that's the point.

Guys guys..tinnitus does get better in the long run..if u get overwhelmed by theres alot of ways to get back to normal or manageable state.. Take cold showers Cold showers helps to minimize ur physical stress levels instantly.. Slow down with ur carb and sugar intake.. Carbs can cause inflammation to ur body and inflammation triggers physical stress and that would turn into both mentally and physically stress and tinnitus gravitates to that.. Cheers to you all and life do get better..

Hi Julian I have always enjoyed your tinnitus channel on youtube. Anyways I just wanted to share my own personal experience hoping you could pass this along to others. After taking a depression medication, I had tinnitus for 2 straight years so loud I could barely sleep. Fortunately I took a food allergy/Intolerance test. As it turns out I was allergic or intolerant to over 80% of all foods (It tested for IGG, IGG4, IGE, C3D). It is called a dietary Antigen specific test. After eliminating these foods for about 2 months I only have a little bit of tinnitus at nighttime. This test literally saved my life so I was hoping your channel could pass along my experience.

I notice a comment you made about some posts on a forum concerning you. I never go on forums to do with tinnitus, and I guess you do as you need to [i.e. to help]. Luckily, I know that you can rise above it all. I still have fairly epic tinnitus at times. However, the key message that you're putting out about learning to achieve *proper* calm and relaxation is key, I absolutely believe this. I'm working on it! :) Ignore the haters [x].TBH if people read your books without having tinnitus, I can see them having a very positive effect on their lives regardless. I'm still exploring new techniques and ideas, and my life isn't held to account by tinnitus anymore. Keep doing what you’re doing.

Thanks for your input. It's hard to know how to respond to the "haters" because I understand anger and rage and feelings of hatred. I used to hate my tinnitus with a vengeance. Also it is normal for some people to follow one line of thinking and for others to follow another line of thinking. These are all normal human emotions. But putting extreme stuff on the internet can quickly turn into long-term things that can fester over time and can leave a bitter taste for others. When we feel vulnerable it is easy to be pulled into negative feelings of anger, fear and resentment which can activate symptoms like tinnitus. I have found that feeling safe and on top of things with a sense of inner calm helps tinnitus subside, not fighting. Wishing you well, Julian

No. Some people do get back to silence again. Is that a cure? Habituation is different to hearing silence. When I work with people I always ask them to put a number on their sound - so they say I had 0 out of 10 all day Sunday or a 0.5 last week or I am oscillating between 0.5 and 2 out of ten. Zeros do exist. Sometimes it takes a while to get there. Some people don't get there. Some are happy with 1-3 out of 10.

Now one day its become constant. I would put the ac work all night and the cold air would hit me right in the head. The doctor believes this is what caused my tinnitus along with a lot of anxiety ive been dealing with. After treatment with supplements and pills that help the blood flow better i saw a lot of improvement for almost a month. Now its been a hellish week. Its louder than ever, in both ears and i cant calm down. Im thinking of doing the worst. I feel hopeless again. Im only 25 and i dont know how i can manage to live this way... I know this will be controversial for some but, I take 25mg quetiapine before bedtime, which is a small dose and you can easily take half of that and I sleep like a baby. Helped me a lot to rest and feel better. It’s got short elimination half life, so by 8 hours sleep, there is no fatigue or nothing. Good to go. It’s not like benzos, where the tolerance develops. You can take it indefinitely. It really has to be a small dose, no more than 25mg. More than that and you may feel drowsy in the morning.

Once everything has been checked then please feel free to get in touch, with your parent's consent, if you would like further support. My email is here: info@juliancowanhill.co.uk
