Dylan Kwart, Ph.D., M.Sc., center, principal scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Immunology and Inflammatory Diseases Therapeutic, shared his innovative research during the Neighborhood Science Seminar Series sponsored by NYMC and Regeneron on June 5, at the BioInc@NYMC Lounge. Dr. Kwart, who studies how the innate and adaptive immune systems function to detect and respond to cancer, highlighted his work aimed at unpacking the complex heterogeneity of monocytes in the tumor microenvironment. During his presentation, he described the novel role of cancer cell-derived type I interferons in driving immunostimulatory tumor monocyte polarization.
