There’s so many singers impersonators but I haven’t heard one that can sing or imitate Neil Diamond. He’s unique, distinctive and you can feel his soul when he sings. My soul connected with him since I was a little girl. Couldn’t remember who was he, had his image in my head then I found those videos. I had no idea who Neil Diamond was until recently. Now I can’t stop listening to his songs. My forever crush.❤❤ I love him.😍

My very first concert ever was my mother and father taking me to see Him perform in Virginia Beach! I have never been so happy that my mother had the biggest crush on this man. It's because of that, my entire being breaks into the biggest, brightest smile anytime i hear his beautiful songs. My first 45 record that i ever owned was "Forever in blue jeans" and my own children have been brought up with the same smiles and beautiful memories that his songs bring forth. Thank You for making my life that much better. You bring smiles and comfort whenever i needed it, through your breathtaking songs. I even gave birth to my own daughter in 2000, watching the Jazz Singer before I went to work as a Mom myself. You touch generations through your songs. Thank you for making my life so much better for having your music be a part of it. You have not only touched people of Your age... But your breathtaking lyrics and heart wrenching love songs will touch the future generations to come. Humbly, I thank you. You made my childhood a very happy one.

The first verse is so true: I went from a small city to Berlin and now 20 years later I realized Berlin has never become my home, but my home has changed so much that it´s not mine anymore. Makes me feel lost much too often :(
@filminginportland1654
5 жыл бұрын
callasmar Same here, between my hometown 25 miles (what, 8 km I think? Hour+ drive in traffic anyway) outside Portland, Oregon (USA) and now having lived in Portland proper for over a decade, and leaving my hometown 20 years ago. Seems like a small thing but it’s a world away, the small farm town and nearest big city. All my family moved out of state, all my grandparents & upper generations died aside from Dad, my mother died in 2014, so all the things I had before when I was home are gone. So even if I moved back, those changes plus the town’s own changes, what with this region’s continual massive growth, mean home is gone regardless. So I suppose it’s a common theme many of us have. Certainly those who have moved around, but maybe even those who stay put and everything changed around them. Huge changes here on the west coast of the US as expensive housing forces everyone to move around, and the people from San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle all seem to escape here to Portland. Our own housing is pushing locals out to other, cheaper, places so nothing stays even remotely the same. Again, universal ideas I suppose, in many ways. As change is the only constant.

I saw Neil perform this song in concert shortly after I moved to a large city from a very small town in northern Iowa. I went from knowing and being known by almost everyone in my community to being utterly unknown by anyone. I've never felt so alone and insignificant and I could really identify with this song. Neil's songs are not just collections of notes and lyrics, they are short biographies.
