Every time she opens her mouth, it's a storm of possible phrases fighting for realization.

I appreciated the moment she took to call her mother to discuss appropriate terminology for avoiding complimenting herself.

The first time I heard Nellie, I was hooked on her music. I still am. But, now, you know what? I'm just so rooting for her happiness. Let's see what she produces then. Love you, girl. Please take care of yourself!

HAha. I loved that line too. "Where's this hope come from? Where's your cynicism? You work at NPR." I love Nellie McKay. She's younger than be, but still an idol.

Wow, is it weird that I was extremely moved by this? I just felt Nellie's selflessness pouring out. I wanted to cry, actually! LOL! She reminds me so much of my friend Jill who, oddly, lives in New York and looks almost exactly like her. Is it weird that Nellie reminds me of Lady Gaga? Lady Gaga, however, acts classless and exaggerates her attention-crazed personality to the extreme. Nellie, however, maintains her class and her personality is rather endearing, relaxing, and refreshing.

It's nice to see someone else's process. Makes me feel a little less crazy. There is always this expectation to be able turn a song out on a dime. It doesn't always work like that.

I loved watching the process of creating a song. There is a lot to it. It's almost too grueling to watch but I wanted to hear the end product. Then to see everyone with smiling faces it was worth it.

Good grief, folks...she's not drunk. She's very tired and flummoxed by the creative process (which is hard enough) as rendered for an audience (even harder and not typically how people create. She's just self-conscious as she carries out the process. On a side note, I think she'd get a massive kick out of the Indiscreet LP by Sparks if she hasn't already.

Hey, Nellie, like your vest. I got about 20 vests, and a gay friend did the Queer Eye thing, told me vests were not cool and would not be again. I'm hanging onto them, hoping they get cool again. If we go out for drinks sometime, we'll both wear vests. Deal?
