My suggestion is that you can make better use of the wind by using a sprung tail structure.

Hi, It's been awhile since but I used a buck converter as voltage generated by stepper motor was high , very high in single phase , if interested I can look back on my bench test notes.

From bench test notes: Parallel wiring 400rpm o/c. 13.63 volts 1400 rpm o/c. 44.24 volts Extrapolating 31.5 volts around 1000 rpm Went for a Drok step down buck 4 to 40 volts with capacitor rating of 50 volts Series wiring would have produced excessive voltage on o/c

Update I also ordered a 5 to 60 volt buck converter with cap. rating of 63 volts . I think this was the one I used. Motor was Yoynano NEMA 23 , 2.8 A , 1.26 Nm
