Never seen an issue like that on a chainsaw with a gasket not having that cutout good video Doug 👍

Im guessing there’s still current patents on Husqvarna’s stratification system and “not using it” was the cheapest workaround. I could be way off, what do you think?
@Turningwrenches85

@@IndianaDoug I think it was kind of odd to block the airflow like that though

Very odd. I also find it odd that the saw worked ok-ish before the mod. 😆

Does this flaw still exist in those? I dont get it why t f they dont fix that problem, i mean its huge difference in power!!!!!! @@IndianaDoug

@@rgtwergf they did this on purpose. Legally they can’t make profits on the technology Husqvarna has current patents on. The cheapest way to circumvent this is cover up the “XTorq” feature.

❤, I like a light nimble saw if i am using it all day , I want one of those for fire wood , but it seems they all spit the wrist pin bearings out eventually, did they ever get that fixed ? Or is there another fix for it ?

Good fix Doug, but I thought the carb would have to have a second 'fresh air' throttle body and butterfly valve to take advantage of your modification?
@IndianaDoug
Жыл бұрын
You’d think. The carb doesn’t separate air , the intake boot does. It’s a weird design

Great video. I just ordered one to backup my real Husky 550XP. Are these gaskets still blocked or did they fix the issues? I'd love to see other mods for this saw. Have you inspected the muffler yet? Are there any gains to be had?
@IndianaDoug

Yes they come blocked. Runs way better after mod

@@IndianaDoug I just rec'd my saw and performed the intake gasket mod - thanks again! This is a pretty impressive little saw. Feels almost as light and nimble as 30-35cc class saws but with a lot more performance. Overall build and quality of materials looks commensurate with OEM. Looking forward to break in. Combined with a 50 or 65 cc saw, this could be a marriage made in heaven.

P.S. Don't bother removing the muffler. It's basically just an open can and I can't see where there would be any gains from a muffler mod. In fact mine didn't even come with a spark arrester.

Ive been searching through your videos, dang there is a lot of them! I just picked up on of these MH843s and would like to attempt porting it. I think you referred to a video in one of your posts, that made me thik you broke that process down. I haven't came across it yet. Id sure like to play with this saw and get a ripper out of it, but i was hoping to gain some youtube phd's fory confidence in tearing it down. Any advise?
@IndianaDoug

Charles Brisco ported mine. But if you want a decent gain, delete the gasket and give it a healthy muffler mod.
