Hi I love your videos. I currently have an ASUS zen XT8, but I am having a lot of trouble with the satellite speed connection. Would you recommend and update to this system from an ASUS?

Really enjoy your Wifi mesh system reviews; currently deciding on which one to get. I have several concerns with this Orbi system: at this price point they should relinquish firewall control without forcing you in a subscription 1 year down the road, should have at least a second multi-gig port on each hubs and for the ones really invested in IoT the maximum 100 connected devices is lower than most of its competition. The available dedicated network for IoT is fantastic though and I have been wondering why the major players just don

Just started watching your reviews and must say, impressive! I just picked up the AX6000 at Best buy, going to this from google nest wifi 2nd gen - bridged mode on all satellites due to rooms networked. Is this possible to bridge the orbi satellites?
@landpet

The satellites by default are in bridge mode, the Orbi has dedicated satellites so they can't be routers either way

Your videos and channel are superb! Could you review the ASUS XT12 Mesh system and compare it to the Orbi RBKE system? And possibly the Amplifi Alien too?

Thanks! I don’t plan on getting the XT12 or Alien as of now. I’m looking forward to the WiFi 7 line up that’s coming next year.

@@landpet Fair enough. Thank you for your reviews. I always enjoy watching them and your methodology, comparisons and explanations are brilliant. Wifi 7 does sound like it could be a game changer so looking forward to it!

Do I still need a WIFI plan with another company if I buy this system?
@landpet
Жыл бұрын
You still need an internet plan from an Internet Service Provider. You don’t need to rent a router though since you would be buying your own.

Is it worth spending extra money for RBK862 vs RBK852 if I am paying for 1Gbit internet? I am interested specifically how much better reception RBK862 has because supposedly it has new antenna design. It will have to go through a few walls and ceiling. What do you say?

I've tried the 752 and 862 and 963. I haven't tried the 852 so can't say if it's worth the extra price. However, I can say with absolute certainty that this thing has phenomenal wireless backhaul speeds.

For your range test, is that the distance from the system? Do you know how far you can have a satellite from the router?
@landpet
Жыл бұрын
Yes I’m walking away from the system. The satellites need to be within 30 to 50 feet from each other depending on your home.

I would like you to review Netgear Orbi RBK 763s because I am comparing between linksys Atlas Pro 6 Dual band AX5400 and Netgear Orbi RBK 763s Tri band AX5400. Thank you in advanced.

This thing is wifi 6. At $1100 for 3 pack you are very close to price for the wifi 6e model (RBK963) with the additional 6ghz band. Would it be not better to just go all way to RBK963?
@landpet

It depends if you plan on using the speeds and if you have the devices. Also WiFi 7 is here with some manufacturers like the Deco, Netgear should be releasing theirs in the next few months I would imagine.

Is it just me or did this kit do better than the 963 and ASUS previously tested? Also, I would love to see you test the Amplifi Alien. Its highly rated but I fear it doesn't do as well as people claim. Can't wait to see what Wifi 7 Brings here in a few months. I'm actually waiting to see if wifi 7 systems help lower the cost of current products or if they will just be the next tier. I have 1.2 gigabit service supposedly hitting 1425 megabits but limited by gigabit ports/switches. I also have a bunch of wireless devices and don't really see any benefit over wifi 5, but have noticed that even the 6/6E routers actually adding some benefit; probably not noticeable in real world use though. As others stated; I appreciate your videos and like that you cover the products I've been interested in. It's always nice to see various routers tested in the same manner for comparison. Keep it up 👍

I haven’t looked at the numbers side by side yet but I wouldn’t be surprised if this thing beat it in some regards. I do remember the Asus ET12 having phenomenal range though even when you’re very far away. The advantage the Orbi RBKE963 and ET12 is that they both have two fast ports vs only one on this one but this thing does deliver in wireless backhaul performance. Thanks for the feedback, I don’t know if I will get to the Ampifi Alien since I’m looking forward to WiFi 7 routers. I’m genuinely curious how well those will do.

hey which one would you choose quad band vs tri band ?
@landpet
Жыл бұрын
Quad band is generally better but it depends on your situation. This thing has solid wireless backhaul performance as well. The advantage of the Orbi quad band is that it has 1 fast 10Gbps port and a second 2.5Gbps port.

I’m considering the Orbi mesh system for my 3000 sq/ft 3 level home. I also want it to reach a second building 150’ away with a direct line of sight. I can’t seem to find any decent opinions if this will work? Also I’ve read several complaints about the system having trouble getting back up after a power outage. Any advice/help is appreciated.
@landpet
Жыл бұрын
For your main home that would be fine, I’m more worried if it will reach your second building, it does have that type of range if it’s direct line of sight but the performance will suffer. If it doesn’t work which is a possibility, they actually sell something specific for called Wireless Bridge.
