As someone who also heavily researched these claims, there are 2 main takeaways: 1. Neurallink made a lot of animals suffer for quicker progress before killing them. This is undoubtedly true. 2. This is extremely common. Almost all animals are killed after testing and treating them poorly for the sake of progress is basically an industry standard. Do with these facts what you will, I’m not here to preach one way or the other

NeuroLink and that Sergio Canavero have been really eye opening as to how wasteful testing on monkeys can get. Especially that Sergio guy requiring tools that don't exist yet and have yet to even be tested in themselves, just chopping up spinal chords like no tomorrow

You’re wrong when you say the people can’t access Neuralink as accessibility. All expensive equipments are most often bought with charity organizations money. It is sad for sure but You are a bit severe. It is no animal killing business.

Animal research is normal... I'm a neuroscientist who works primarily with mice. And we have to go through many. It is necessary for science and progress. Even if used by rich idiots. The monkey abuse is not the issue. The bad ideas is the issue. Though neuralink type inventions are interesting and worth it. Your video seems to be low effort and not very convincing. I'd grade it a C+.

What even is this video. I am not a Musk fan, but seriously, what is this video? I was skeptical neurolink would work, and I certainly don't want anything in my brain, but is has been shown to work. As far as animal testing, there really isn't a way around it. They claim something like 1800 animals, but most were probably rats and mice to begin with. Testing on primates and pigs is common as they are most like humans. Again, you may not like it, but no one is going to volunteer a family member to test this out first instead of a pig or monkey. Again, the conclusion is that it is useless then states that it could help quadriplegics, then tries to cover that up by saying it would likely not be offered to them based on absolutely zero facts.

so why don't we start breeding humans for experiments? 😄

By your logic, it's way better to use humans because it will give the most accurate feedback, and you don't have an issue with other animals that are most close to humans being tested on so there is no issue with doing the same with humans? How is animal's life or suffering any less worth than yours, it's the superiority complex, "Oh but humans are smarter!", by that logic any humans that are dumb should be euthanized, "But humans are capable of emotions", and so are animals, most of them do have emotions but they can get overruled by natural instincs (Which by the way humans also have). Give me a reason that justifies using monkeys instead of humans, because both are murder of innocent animal, and people have given themself too much credit, creating answers to the issues they created themself and then playing superhero saying it's for "Humanity" and to help others when it's always about profit and getting that bag, it's always been and so it will be, ONLY rich people will be able to get it, and in those rich people might be some quadriplegics, but saying quadriplegics would be able to get it would mean that each one and even those that don't have that amount of money would be able to get it. I personally believe humanity should cease to exist, and with the way it's been going these past few years I do believe it's going to happen.

-This video was made with the intent of going over animal testing, and specifically Neuralink testing. The conclusion is my opinion that the technology should not have gone into development. -“There is no way around it,” to animal testing is true. Why suggest human only testing? I bring up EMG wristband as a non-invasive alternative. That doesn’t need animal testing. Its application with quadriplegic may not work, but nowhere does Neuralink say their technology was made for quadriplegic individuals. -It is a for profit company. This technology is being made with markets in mind. I do not base my opinion that Neuralink won’t offer it to people with physically disabilities on facts. It is my opinion that it won’t once it is open to the market. I base my opinion on the fact that Elon is not a philanthropist at heart. (Re: daring to donate $6 billion and instead buying Twitter for $45 billion)

@@thejoevandotcom EMG (which is electrical stimulation) has been around for a long time and has been proven to provide limited benefits, especially with quadriplegics or those with serious spinal cord injuries. Unless there has been some breakthrough I am unaware of, that is still the case. I did not state that neurolink was expressly made for quadriplegics, but the human trial is providing a benefit to the quadriplegic that it has been implanted into. All companies are for-profit. Some organizations are non-profit, but all companies are for profit. You actually did not provide any facts of any sort to prove neurolink will not be offered to people with disabilities or serious spinal / neurological disorders. Being offered doesn't mean giving it away for free. Many medical devices such as pace makers, defibrillators, and insulin pumps cost money. The cost is offset by non-profit organizations, health insurance, and local fundraising. This dissolves your "fact" that Musk isn't a philanthropist. As I stated I am not a huge Elon fan, but that doesn't mean that neurolink doesn't hold some benefit. If future human trials are successful, and FDA approval is given, people will be offered this product. And I am sure that Elon will make a healthy profit on it.
