The "Neuron" pavilion is made of 61 pieces of irregular plywood panels connected by their own “fingers”. The workshop focused on the computational design of a compression-only structure and the automated fabrication of the neuron-shaped panels. Based on Java, the team developed a computer program to generate the pavilion’s geometry, specify each panel’s details, and create the source file for driving the Kuka robot.
