Thank you for sharing these DIY recipes. I make homemade soups, broths, and such due to the nutritional value compared to what processed foods provide. Cooking for 24 children daily is a small part of my work, but it's extremely important to me to feed those little bodies as optimum as possible to insure fewer diseases in their adult lives. Cannot wait to try all three. I may even attempt to freeze dry them as well as putting them in my freezer. I recently found you here on You Tube and so enjoy your content and mannerisms. God Bless.

Good sunny (at least right now lol) morning from Washington! ☀️ I don’t use many cream soups but when I do I always think there must be a better option. 🤔 One of the times I do use them, is when I do up freezer meals since they tend to be more casserole style etc. I’m hoping to do some freezer meals soon as continued prep for garden season. I can see making up the cream soups before making those freezer meals and then I won’t have to purchase the canned soup! I have some spices and seasonings that I’m running low on but I’m in need of refreshing a couple of my blends. I’ll give your recipes a try when I get my ingredients. I’m hoping to master a tomato soup recipe that I will be able to can up for the pantry shelves. We like one brand of a tomato soup but it’s expensive and I’m hoping to make something myself that we enjoy as much or more! I know we aren’t supposed to can dairy so not sure if I’ll just make the soup without the dairy, then add it when I open the jar to warm it up. I have made homemade tomato soup before but we just ate it, I didn’t preserve any of it. Of course, if you have any ideas, or a recipe you’ve used, I’d love to hear about it. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for the video. God Bless you and yours.

It’s in the “All New Ball Book of Canning and Preserving” it’s delish. I add a splash of cream when we go to eat. Thanks friend. Have a blessed week ❤️

Hi! Have you ever tried making the soups with a non-dairy milk like almond or oat milk? My oldest son has a dairy allergy & I'm constantly looking for ideas! Since summer is approaching I would love to see a video on homemade frozen yogurt or sorbets with minimal added sugars!
@seedandsparrowhomestead
Жыл бұрын
Hi Jill! Personally I have not, most non-dairy milks are inflammatory for me so I don’t experiment with them, however I believe you can substitute non dairy milks here as I’ve seen others do it! I’d give it a shot! Ohhh with summer coming those are great ideas, I’ll look into the frozen sorbets and yogurts for sure! Thank you! ☺️

@@seedandsparrowhomestead haha yes McCormick has a meatloaf seasoning mix. The packets are so expensive, $2.29 (for just one packet). They used to cost $1 but that was a few years ago. Still expensive when I’m sure I have all the Herbs and spices to make my own blend. Thanks again!

I don’t see why home milled wouldn’t work! It’s just a thickening agent so if it needs to be adjusted you can freely add more or less 😊 also I just purchased a grain mill so I’ll have more insight on using freshly milled flour with all recipes!

Could you use cornstarch instead of flour?
@seedandsparrowhomestead
Жыл бұрын
I personally wouldn’t. I don’t think you’d achieve the same flavor or texture, at least not at the amount you’d have to substitute. 1/2 cup of cornstarch is a lot. If you need a gluten free substitute I’d recommend cassava flour first and if you can’t source that I’d go to coconut or almond flour next 😊
