Having schedule that rotates every 3 months. not being able to have weekends off, I get why some people might not want to date me cause of schedule. that being said, being able to keep my job at pace means that I do not do drugs, I am self disciplined enough to show up to work on time every day. and I make a minimum of 6 hours of overtime a week. plus can easy take extra trips to get even more OT. starting pay its 25.68 an hour, and it goes up to 33 an hour. also get a good looking uniform. so clearly I am someone who would have value on the dating market if you can put up with the difficult schedule and limited social life.

I once dated a bus driver many years ago, and over the years, I've had numerous encounters with bus drivers both as a passenger and as a fellow driver on the road. While I have great respect for the work they do, I have come to realize that dating a city bus driver isn't something I would choose for myself. The primary reason is the demanding nature of their job. City bus drivers often work very long hours, which leaves them with little free time. Their schedules can be erratic, making it difficult to plan quality time together. Additionally, the job offers limited autonomy, as they must adhere to strict routes and schedules, which can add to their stress and fatigue. Given these factors, I feel that the lifestyle and work commitments of a city bus driver aren't conducive to building a fulfilling and balanced relationship, at least for me personally.

I live in New York City- I take buses everyday and see and speak with many MTA bus drivers. Aside from the fact that they are some of the nicest people I meet on a daily basis, they have one of the most stressful jobs you can imagine. Try driving a bus through crazy New York city traffic with as*hole motorists on a daily basis and having to deal with angry, impatient passengers about things such as delays and traffic which are totally beyond your control- especially in Manhattan- without losing your sanity. THAT alone makes bus driving far, far from a 'mediocre' job. Also unfortunately here in New York and I suppose elsewhere it's become a dangerous job as well, with violence and assaults against bus drivers occurring regularly in all five boroughs of New York - a truly tragic and pathetic situation. A kind word of understanding when boarding or getting off a bus wouldn't be too much to ask...

I'm a caregiver for developmentally disabled adults. I personally would love to date a lady in my field simply because they understand. I know financially we don't make a lot. But money and careers should not determine who you date. Date someone for who they are and not what they have

As someone who’s a transit fan, aspires to be a bus operator, even take on a major in college of Transportation Systems, it kinda hit below the belt to hear that she wouldn’t date someone like that unless they own the bus. I think I take a lil more personally because it’s something that I want to do since I was a kid and I’m almost there and all kinds of people drives buses likewise as those who ride it. And with public transportation on the up and up it’s gonna be more operators in the profession

I am a retired Muni bus driver and currently a paratransit bus driver promoted to Road Supervisor and I love it. Too bad and so sad for her because she'll never know the realities of being real. I know bus driver's who are millionaires who became millionaires driving for Muni. Yes they made some good investments but they did it with bus driver money. I was and I am still a bonafide bus driver good at what I do. When I retired my annually salary was $120,000 yes.! Maya Angelo drove Muni. Y'all don't sleep on bus driving jobs. Muni. VTA. ACTransit. Bauers. And the list goes on. My fellow bus driver I ❤ you in spirit and on wheels rolling continued blessings and you continue blessing your passengers by driving that bus trust me they appreciate YOU.!

I am impressed by how magnanimous you are towards this woman. Seems like it’s all about appearances to her (and well, yes, money) and I pity the fool who gets stuck with her and her high-and-mighty attitude. I’m a woman, and I was a city bus driver in Minneapolis/St. Paul for 21 years and it gave me a paycheck that I could more than live on (but boy did I earn it) and I hardly worked any overtime. Now I’m retired and really thankful for that pension. I wonder if Eboni is putting any money away for retirement or expecting some sugar daddy to foot the bill for her lifestyle.

The occupation of bus driver or operator is not low as that of a server at a food restaurant, store cashier, or such that requires no high school diploma or higher education degree. Bus operators who operate municipal buses are paid an honest salary that is usually better than work in the private sector. Also, the job security is solid and better than jobs in the private sector. A [gentle]man, even women who are bus operatresses are better off than even the executives who manage, own, and work in jobs that offer salaries close to municipal workers, and they are usually temporary. There is no shame in this game.

Women like the one who was questioned about dating a bus driver really isn't worth the time to pursue. Beauty is only skin deep, and she would be a very expensive date. I'd rather date a woman who has integrity...meaning not only interested in prestige or money.

Nothing to do with what you do for a living. It's who the person is. Not what he does. How about liking the person for who they are, not how much they earn. As for anyone with that kind of attitude, I would have no interest. I just take them out with the rest of the trash. She has one thing going for her, she is nice-looking. So much for nice looks.

Even if I was single,I wouldn't have time to date because management has normalized a 70 hour work week. I barely have time to see my wife and son. I work all weekend. I'm exhausted when I get home from driving in city traffic all day for 10 hours. During the week I hardly ever have time to see my son because he's in school. He's asleep in the morning when I leave,he's getting ready for bed when I get home. Some thing money can't buy.

There is no shame in committing yourself to being a public servant. There is more honor in being a servant. There is no honor in being served. She is someone who is high maintenance and wants someone to serve her. To that I say BLAH😢. Those who commit to serving get far more respect. Life isn't how much we made its how much we gave. We should commit to giving not getting

Hey Keywan. Public Transit operators, in my opinion, make a decent, honest wage. Add in all of that FORCED OT, and we're well over 100k a year. People like Ebony, I don't think will ever be happy! Money doesn't buy everything!

I started driving in Phoenix 3.5 yrs ago. I enjoy the job. I also have a masters degree in elementary education. I make more as a driver than I would as a teacher. And in1.5 yes I'll make a little more than my brother (who needed a degree for his job). And it took him 10 yes to get to what I'll get after 5yrs. He can't get overtime because its too expensive for his company. I can get upto 30hrs a week overtime if I want it. Who's better off in the long run???? I'm not a looser or low class or uneducated. My coworkers are awesome despite some passenger opinions.

CTA Bus operators, Bus servicers, Bus Clerks, Rail Clerks, , Managers, Train operators, Controllers, Switchmen, Tower workers, Trackmen, Flaggers, and on and on... Are all getting paid. Plus a pension with as little as 10 years of service. Alot of Lawyers have to keep working well into their 60's and 70's cause alot of them don't have pensions. Working at CTA is tough. But we can retire at 55 with full pension and medical with 26 years of service.

I'm surprised by the level of ignorance from folks who say being a bus operator is a lazy job. If the outside looking in it may appear to be a lazy job but it's very far from that. Not are you only responsible for the lifes that get on your vehicle, you're also responsible for the people out side of your vehicle too. You have to worry about the bad drivers out there that make our days even more stressful. It's more than driving from point A to point B. Sometimes you start as one route and end as another and have to shuttle out of service to the new starting point. Not to mention accident reports need all details concerning the accident you may be involved in. That doesn't just count collisions but slip and falls on your vehicle too. So before you criticize us operators for having an "easy job" how about you apply and try it out for yourself before criticizing others career choices. Because some chose a more physical demanding job doesn't give you more brownie points. All and all work is work.

As a Transit Bus Operator for NYCT Transit, I'm proud of being a bus operator. What that woman said about bus operators being mediocre is a good example how very little people from the outside perspective of bus operators understand our world. Sadly, people do look down at this career and some event think its even a dead end job, which is absolutely far from the truth. This career is a decent living and in addition to that, you can also take promotional exams as a bus operator to become a dispatcher, and then go up to superintendent and other positions when you meet those requirements and their salaries are much higher. So to call bus operators mediocre is really show much limited understanding their is about us bus operators their are in the public. If she doesn't want to date a bus operator, that's her choice, but I sure as hell wouldn't dare to stay something like that out in the public, let alone social media. Once you say something like that outside in the public, its out there and you open up a real can on controversy on yourself. She should've kept what she said to herself.

Keyshawn, I was waiting for you to comment on this. Yes, people can date whomever they want. But you also have to be open to certain romantic partners. I am not saying to settle, just be open. For example, if a woman who had a white-collar position met a nice, attractive man who was kind to her. He was intelligent, witty and ambitious. But he had a blue-collar job, should she reject him because of that? There is nothing wrong with having standards, but sometimes those standards can be found in people or places you wouldn't expect. Besides, a bus driver's salary isn't anything to sneeze at. They tend to make really good money. They don't make Apple CEO money, but they make a comfortable living.
