I trust a Russian join more than a knot.
@gabrielabatista6016
Russian joints are great, the only problem is that they don't work with every yarn. My amigurumi cotton yarn simply refuses to work with russian joints, it's untwists itself and comes apart. ಥ‿ಥ It gets worse with thinner yarn too, and don't even think about it with velvet and chenille yarn. It works great with acrylic or thick yarn, though. Keeps it super secure and hides it wonderfully. I usually just do a normal knot with long ends that'll weave in for extra security. That way the knots aren't coming undone (which most fancy knots like the one above do for me, and leaving loose ends to weave in later is even worse. My tension is tight so I almost always pull them undone by accident while crocheting) and by weaving the tails in I can pull the knot close to the stitches and hide it. Unless it's plushies, in that case the knot will stay on the inside so it doesn't matter too much. Just need to secure it well so it doesn't come undone.
