Hi Ed! I just wanted to say a very big Thank you. I took my PMP today and passed. I have been studying on and off for like a year BUT I can seriously say it was 12/12/2020 when I stumbled upon your videos that's when the real studying began. After watching just one video, I knew if I watched and understood everything that you teach I'd pass. So, I tore out all the old materials from a million sources, started a new page with heading "HOW I PASSED MY PMP" . Your teaching was so clear to me that I knew it would benefit me in my pm carrier and not just to pass the exam. I loved all your videos, the sense of humor kept me wanting to watch more. Thank you, Ed! We did it! PS: To pass the exam, understand your material, Do not memorize anything. The new PMP is seriously trying to see if you understand the practice. Most questions you really have to use your common sense, if I passed, anyone can pass. Above all, I thank GOD for guiding me through the whole process. Glory to God

Congratulations indeed on such a great accomplishment!! So proud of you. I have seen all your comments on the videos before and I was looking forward to the day you will give the good news on passing the PMP exam. Thank you for the tips you provided to the others. It is in line with what everyone is now saying about the new exam. People need to understand and not memorize the PMBOK. I do have some questions for you since you watched my videos and took the new 2021 exam and passed. I am aware that the new exam is structured differently and I made a video for the new structure, but I also know that when I made my videos, I was only covering the PMBOK from an understanding perspective and not from an exam perspective. I always felt it is better to understand rather than memorize ITTO's like so many others were recommending. I think ITTO's are mainly for CAPM exam. Did you feel that the videos were sufficient as they are? Did you add study time from other sources? If someone went thru my videos like you did, what else should they do to take the new PMP 2021 exam? Sorry for the long message, but I am really excited about you passing the new PMP exam. I would like to see the others who have been watching but didn't get to take the exam in 2020 go for it now.

I think it was worth the try. Early in 2021, more resources will start to come out that can help you prepare for the new exam. So, if it is not urgent for you, it makes sense to take your time and study for the new exam. Are you from an IT background?

@@ProjectManagementVideos Yes I am in IT. I am also a Scrum Master. Pmi said they will offer a free course. So if it is Agile 50% that will be great because I so it for work. Im going to take my time and prep instead of rushing for Dec 31. There are no more slots for this year.

Hi Edward, thanks for the video, there isn't much out there regarding the new format - this was really informative. The new format looks slightly messy, at least with PMBOK v6 under the predictive approach there's a bit of structure, incorporating agile would be interested to see PMBOK 7 and how that's set up. Question - I have my PMP exam scheduled end Nov (and making contingencies for early Dec just in case). The 25 'trial'/not scored questions in the exam, do you think they will be based on the new format? I'm just wondering what is the purpose of these if it's so close to the changes in format? Thanks

I don’t think the trial questions would be any different than they have been all along. The new pool of questions goes into effect next year.

Hi thank you for this. I’ve been studying in and off for a year - did not pass the exam in December so this helps me figure out where to go from here. Exam Content part is very clear. Thank You. Any input regarding the Exam Pattern? I heard its going to be a mix of true-false, mix and match, multiple options and multiple answers? Do you think it will increase the difficulty level or overall the difficulty level will be same if we talk only about the exam questions (not the content part).
@ProjectManagementVideos

I think difficulty level will be the same as PMI still expects you to complete the exam in the same 4 hours. I would suggest you ignore the hype you read on the Internet and make sure you know your PMBOK Guide (including the agile sections) well enough so that you can answer any type of questions.

In my humble opinion, PMP still rules and in a big way. As PMP is now half agile, it is in a good position to remain king when it comes to project management. You can pursue ACP after PMP if you feel it will add value to your career.
