Specs sound a lot like what we already have here in the US. It's readily available here in my part of Oregon, but dealerships are asking for a $7000 "market adjustment" on the high trim and unlike other EV's it doesn't qualify for the Federal tax rebate. EV 6's can be bought at a discount. The ID 4 qualifies for the federal rebate, so I can theoretically get at top spec ID4 for about $13,000 less than the I5. I like the I5 better, but not that much better. I like the rear wiper on my current SUV, not convinced it's not necessary on the I5.

Still one of my favorite EVs out there, so definitely like the improvements they've offered with the 2023 model. Having said that, as cool as exterior cameras are, they all share one flaw - In inclement weather, specifically rain, they're useless. Once the camera lens has water on it, you cannot see ANYTHING on the screen. At least with a mirror, you can still see enough to drive safely. So, unless they're going to put tiny wipers on the wing mirrors to keep the lenses clear, they're not really an upgrade from the standard wing mirrors. Aside from that, I love the tech. Just doesn't feel like that bit has been particularly well thought out by the design team.

For the normal everyday Joe, even if you put in a deposit to pre order one through Hyundai's system, we are SOL on getting the 2023 Ioniq 5. Heard through the grapevine, that even if you have a pre ordered Ioniq 5, dealer's who get new cars will sell them at a markup to someone else, keeping you in the pre ordered system, which is why this source is saying look to 2024. Unfortunately I sold my Ionic5 Ultimate after just 3000 miles. Too many issues which was a shame as the car promised so much. First, my wife couldn’t stand the headrests, they can be moved forward but not back enough without changing your driving position. The windscreen was poorly manufactured. Sandwiched between the laminate was a lot of debris/dust. Which a low sun the refraction it generated was terrible. I thought I could live without a rear windscreen wiper, but in the UK it’s a must. My biggest problem was body panels around the doors and tailgate. Not flush , misaligned and some with large gaps, some with not enough. Lastly the raised parcel shelf in the boot rattled all the time on uneven roads. Couldn’t get it to stop and eventually removed. I liked the concept, just poor QC.

Digital side mirrors are still a poor implementation in my book. Regular side mirror works just fine and they force you to look at cars and possible obstructions directly to your sides as well because you are looking out at that window. With digital side mirrors, I bet there will be drivers who don't look out their window because they get used to looking at the camera display. Either that, or it's now more work to look at the camera display and then look out the window, just adding another step.

I must admit, it is great car. However, I would not recommend it to no one. I have bought one Ioniq5 on PCP on September 2021 and car was very good until wind screen crack. Since I have reported it to insurance on the beginning of June I had to wait until and of September because there was no windscreen in UK, and it was “back order”. Fortunately, I was able to drive it. But the real problems were ahead 😪😩. Just before Christmas 2022 on board charger got broken, car was taken to main dealer. I was told that they haven't got parts on shelf because it's back order and I must wait. After two months and two weeks I finally had message from the dealer that they will get the part next week and get the car fixed for me. I was very excited that I'm going to get my car back after two months and two weeks. I forgotten to mention but, in the meantime, they provided me with BMW series one petrol. From the same beginning I told them that I prefer electric cars, but they don't care. However, I was very patient, and I was looking forward to getting my car back. Unfortunately, when the onboard charger arrived at the dealer, they realise they need other parts, and those parts are also on backorder so now it looks like I might not have a car for 5 months. After all that experience with the dealer and lack of the parts for the car they selling I decided to stay away from Hyundai I once and for all and to spread the word to other people not to make the same mistake and become the victim of this dealer. However, if you decided to buy one of those electric Hyundai's I wish you a lot of luck I hope nothing gets broken otherwise you might need to wait long time before you see your car again.
