From what I have seen these are the upgrades from the Alesis Nitro Max: - Rack uses better screws - 10" Chokeable Ride and Chokeable Crash Cymbal - 8" Dual Zone Tom Pads (from the 8" Single Zone Tom Pads) - Same snare but deeper - 8" Mesh Drum Tower supports double kick (from the 6" Drum Tower, I think)

Not worth the expense. If you truly want to learn drums on an e-kit, get a high-end one and not one that tries to mimic one that you will want to upgrade or buy a better one down the road. In order to fully learn how to play a drum set and be good, you either need an accustic set or a high-end e-kit. The lower-end budget friendly e-kit will only get you interested in drumming and only teach you the very basics. Jarrod made the kit sound good and made the kit seem great, but he is a professional drummer who learned on an accustic kit and is being paid by Guitar Center to demo the Nitro Pro e-kit.

@@Iamadrummer 100% agree. No point getting a kit below 1k. If moneys the problem save up a little bit longer and start yourself on something nice. These budget E-kits are practical toys. With that being said however, 90% of drummers won't even get past playing Spotify songs through their headphones, and many quit once they discover they need to know how to sight read for more advanced songs and learn rudiments for proficiency. If you're not 100% sure you'll keep this hobby long term, then a kit like this is great. It scratches the itch without burning the wallet. But, if this is a burning passion of yours, start yourself out on something a little nicer. If you are easily manipulated by these videos and buy a kit like this (like I was), it'll do nothing but discourage you from continuing. If you want a kit with an amazing module with great sounds, along with good cymbals and a Hi-hat stand, get yourself a Yamaha DTX6k2-X. If you want a kit with larger mesh heads on the snare and toms, get yourself a Roland TD-17KV. Both of those kits are around the $1.5k mark. But I BEG newer drummers, don't get a toy like the cheaper Alesis kits or a Simmons kit. It'll leave you unsatisfied.
