IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT RIBOSE, RIBOSE IS A REDUCING SUGAR, MEANING IT REDUCES AMINO ACIDS, MEANING IT MAKES THEM BROWN, AS WHEN YOU FRY A PIECE OF MEAT, MAILLARD’S REACTION. THE ISSUES IS THAT IT MOST LIKELY WILL TURN YOUR CREAM BROWN AND POSSIBLY WILL IT COLOUR YOUR SKIN, AS IN, IN ESSENCE DOES IT WORK AS A SELF-TANNER DOES. IF NOT USED IN DIRECT CONJUNTION WITH FREE AMINO ACIDS, THEN THE ISSUE MIGHT NOT BE AS PROBLEMATIC. Best Jesper BSc

I have wanted to incorporate D-ribose and B3 into a facial serum for awhile, and LOVED the information you provided in your video, THANK YOU so much! I already have all the supplements you suggest, plus I'm going to add Red Clover extract. I would really prefer to take your suggestion and use the Vichy Celestins thermal mineral water, as I absolutely refuse to use tap water or any type of water that contains trace amounts of the grose things found in unfiltered water. But this has been a giant roadblock to creating my own serum, because I can't find ANYWHERE either here in the US or online that even sells Vichy Celestins mineral water! The only place I found online was a French website that wants to charge over $38 VAT fee to ship a 6 pack of battles to the US, which I believe there are no VAT fees to ship an item OUT of Europe IN to the United States, and the fee only applies when shipping items within Europe, or am I mistaken? I wanted to ask if you possibly know of any suppliers that will ship the Vichy water you use to the US, and if so could you please please share them with us? I would be eternally grateful, as I don't want to spoil the benefits and efficacy of the serum I make by mixing the ingredients I water that doesn't also provide benefits for my skin. Thank you so much and thank you again for sharing such amazing knowledge with us!

Hi Nikki F, thanks for your comments. Though Evian is not the same as Vichy it's still mineral water from an underground spring in France and it might be much easier to get hold of in the US. VAT usually you can get back when you are from the US but most likely you have to claim it back yourself and that's a hassle. Here is a French shop in the UK that offers to send to the US www.frenchclick.co.uk/t-shipping.aspx if you get hold of it remember to shake the fizz out of it first as it will fizz when adding the ingredients. @@JesperOffersenBSc One more question just to clarify; how many mg of acetyl L-carnitine do you add to your 50 mL solution?
@JesperOffersenBSc
3 жыл бұрын
Hi xXHarley QuinnXx, I make a 2% solution and I make 100 ml, that is 2 g of Carnitine because 100 ml water has the weight of 100 g, 2/100 = 0.02 = 2%, likewise is 1/50 = 0.02 = 2%, you will need 1g carnitine for 50 ml to make a 2% solution. If you have carnitine in capsules and they for example are 200 mg per capsule you will need 5 capsules, 5 x 200 mg = 1000 mg = 1 g in 50 ml, 10 capsules for 100 ml. Only make what you use in a "short" while or use a preservative. The carnitine will sting somewhat. As always, doing as I do, say, show, write, or whatsoever is at one's own risk regardless. Hi again xXHarley QuinnXx, thanks for the words, I just made a 100 ml myself just now. Anyway, I use Potassium Sorbate as a preservative, it can often be found in the grocery store where jam making ingredients are found. It does not sterilise but stops present germs from multiplying. Im glad to have found your video since I learned recently, that you can use ribose on your skin topically. But I cannot find a recipe on what to mix it with to create a topical. Does it dissolve easily? I would like to mix it with grape seed oil. What are you mixing it with to create your topical? Thank you
@JesperOffersenBSc
Жыл бұрын
Hi uhlois1, thanks for your comment, Ribose is water soluble and dissolves easily in a normal cream. If you turn slightly yellow in the skin or the cream turns yellow, then it's because of what is called Maillard's reaction, the sugar reduces any Amino Acids it comes into contact with and creates this yellow to brown colour, the same thing that happens when one is frying a piece of meat pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16037226/#:~:text=An%20important%20metabolite%20in%20nucleotide%20synthesis%2C%20ribose%205-phosphate,within%20hours%20and%20brownish%20compounds%20within%20a%20day. I think that together with Amino Acids it's difficult to use properly. Best Jesper BSc

Jesper: Are you still using all of the solutions you've made in this video? Since the video is 4 years old, I was just wondering if you are still incorporating the ribose, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid solutions into your daily routine. Also, are the three solutions layered on the face separately, or have you combined one or more of the ingredients into one solution/container, i.e., mixing the ribose and the niacinamide both into 50 ml of water, and then mixing the hyaluronic acid as a separate solution, and applying it over the ribose/niacinamide solution? Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

I'm sorry to bother you again, but how much D-Ribose do you take daily, Jesper? I'm still experimenting with mixing it for topical application. I bought capsules, but I think the added ingredients make it difficult to dissolve in water, so I ordered the pure powder. I played around with adding it to various oils, but they separated out. I'll keep working at it!
@JesperOffersenBSc

Hi Maärten, at present I don't take any D-Ribose, not for any particular reason, just I take so many powders that it's one that got "forgotten", and at the time did not seem to do a lot for me, though the science is clear enough, but if one does not need that extra energy boost, well, then no need to take it. D-Ribose will not mix with oil, but dissolve in water. I suggest you simply take a little bit, like the very tip of a teaspoon, and mix in your hand with water, let it dissolve and smear it onto the face before your serums or moisturiser. If you get yellow-brown in your skin over time, then you use too much too often, read about the issue in the description box, the self-tan issue. In general, because of the "self-tan" issue, D-Ribose is a little bit difficult to deal with. Taking the full amount of what is recommended on the bag, 5g 1-3 times a day, I think is too much unless one does heavy training. Hi Jo Rossetti, thanks for your question, there is a link in the description box. I just for sake of ease tried to sprinkle a little bit directly in the palm of my hand and mix it with the my cream and it dissolves very quickly, so that could be an easy option to do (just don't put on the face while it's still granular). Hi Juli Moody, thanks for your comment. Well, Ribose is something that can be a little difficult to deal with in the sense that is makes Amino Acids turn brown, and likewise can it make creams go brown too, the reasons is Maillard's reaction. What I would suggest is to use it maybe once a week, as in, put half a teaspoon in the palm of one wet hand and add more water, as in, wet the other hand and smear the two together, so the Ribose dissolves (it's rather quick) then put it on the face as a serum before any creams but only in the evening. The day after, any surplus Ribose mixed into the cream used on top will be brown'ish particularly where a thick layer might have been applied and the pillow might be brown too, but it will wash. Used to often and it might have a similar effect as a self-tanner. If you've ever seen a bag of Ribose haven been well used, it most likely will be brown on the open edges. Using it in the serums I make with Amino Acids makes the serums go yellow brown. As always, doing as I do, say, show, write, or whatsoever is at one's own risk regardless. Nothing I say, show, write, do, or whatsoever is meant to cure, heal, or prevent anything regardless. Best Jesper BSc

Hi Lanell Vickers, thanks for your question. The serum is for use every night, that is what I did, as you might have seen have I made other videos on serums too and experimented with other ingredients, so maybe see some of those videos also. For the Carnitine bit I don't need that as I don't have greasy skin, however the D-Ribose I should have a go at again, it can though, I feel, give a yellow hue to the skin if overdoing it.
