Pasture doctoring on horseback is also low stress and effective for nipping ailments like pink eye in the bud. You just gotta develop your roping skills and handling with a 60' ranch rope (if doing it alone) but its a very effective tactic and you don't have to round up the whole bunch and send them to a chute. 15 minutes and its done and they never leave the herd. Great video! We are in the process of building a house on another property and will be following suit shortly.

Absolutely agree! There are some amazing cowboys that can rope and doctor with finesse. I am currently not one. My reference to stress from “cowboying” is more of a personal experience with some boys that would stretch them till their tongue was swollen and turning blue. Also we’re still developing some young horses that we’ll be able to swing a rope from. We’re kinda stuck between old geriatrics and green colts. Soon though my friend! Thank you for your feedback and watching me blather on. God bless.

@@tickcreekranch Yes there is an art to it for sure! When you get some time check out Pat Puckett and also 3:10 ranch life on youtube. We own 4 horses and can't wait to get cows again when we move to the new ranch. They were made for each other. What part of the country are yall in?

Love to watch your family starts your journey towards regenerative farming and can't wait to see some aerial shot of your ladies moving in their big pasture. I've been requesting Mr. Judy to upload an aerial video of his farm but it seems that he's not a techie kind of guy. 😊

Absolutely I will get some drone footage of what we’re working with! Greg has zero interest in making videos that he has to edit. Everything he does is a “one take” video. I offered to get aerial footage for him when we stayed on his farm but, he had no interest. Thank you! We really appreciate the feedback.

I like the sound of your plan and I'm excited to tag along. Some of us older folks or those who have acquired some disabilities live vicariously through others to some extent. Those who can't admit it just call this entertainment but it's so much more than that. Thanx again

I am a follower of Greg' Judy that's how I found you I hope to go on this same journey soon your recent video highlights a problem a lot of people start out with no infrastructure for handling animals my plan is for bison but the problem is the same portable panels 20 ft long and bolted together with clamps you might watch a clip from cross timbers bison that let's you adjust without putting your decision in concrete we are all working trial and errors just a thought good luck 👍 I'm a horse guy too

Good advise. I’ll look into it. Bison? What an amazing animal. That’s intriguing. Arrowquip has a beautiful system that I like but, it will set a guy back 25k. The pens we have currently are working surprisingly well. I’m sure we will make many adjustments in the future. For now we are just really being open minded and not be too set on anything. I absolutely thrive on new experiences and learning. Thank you for the feedback!

I would love to watch you guys implement Greg’s system. One thing I don’t like in new regen farmers is when they do click bait on their huge mistakes and think they’re really funny. (Especially if it’s not good for the animals. I love the care Greg shows his animals.) Of course there is a learning curve and it’s great to watch people learn from mistakes but l love the idea of you showing you all starting from scratch and following Greg’s system. Looking forward to it. I subscribed yesterday!

Now that’s some great feedback! I’m laying here listening to it pour down rain with tons of lightning wondering how the animals are. We make mistakes but, they are usually small. Not much of a shock and awe channel here. Thank you for the feedback and the Subscription!

I bought 5 heifers off Greg Judy last month and also had to treat all of them for pinkeye. Good to have handling facilities. How do you like your Q-catch?
@tickcreekranch
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah the pinkeye was a bummer. What did you treat with? The Q-Catch is an amazing piece of equipment! Absolutely love it! The head holder is literally worth it’s weight in gold (cost about that much) especially doctoring their head. It is built so well I can’t stop gushing about it. It reminds me of how America used to build stuff. Most of the parts are CNC cut, the welds are immaculate and most importantly it works flawlessly. Thanks for watching!
