What is new about these versions compared to the old 1940 versions? Are they worth picking up? Or, just use the new rule set in our current editions?

Last week, we shot a new walk through of all of the Renegade reprints. We are editing it next week and it should answer most people's questions about them.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting into Axis & Allies, and after much research have basically landed on these three best options. 1. 1942 SE (Looks to be the best, even based on your videos) 2. Global 40 (This one has great depth, but it's too expensive, double the length in time, also not sure over how different it is from 1.) 3. 1914 (This WWI one seems interesting, but it looks to be underdeveloped/not balanced, etc.) 4. AA50 (People online say that this is the most balanced, but can't get this anymore) Just had a question, in 1942 SE available online on Amazon (I'm based in Canada), there are some old complaints of folks not getting all their pieces (it's 410 pieces right?) when buying brand new games with the wrap. They're usually missing some items or other. Not sure if this is some botched up mistake in printing from Hasbro or whoever printed, but was wondering if you've heard of that? Curious if they have fixed this, if I were to buy a new version today (these complaints seem to at least be a year old).

For folks that have experience with other tabletop games (and it sounds like you do), you are spot on. AA 1942.2 is where I suggest most people enter the franchise. For would-be generals who are newer to the hobby, I recommend 1941. I hadn't heard that about any Hasbro product that had been purchased new, but I suppose it is possible. Either way, good news! Earlier this year, Renegade Game Studios started reprinting 1941, 1942.2, 1940 (Europe & Pacific), and 1914. They also just announced that they will also be reprinting A&A Guadalcanal which has been very hard to find for years. While we expect that AA50 is on the horizon, no news on that front just yet. But, fingers crossed. So, you should be able to get a copy of 1942.2 at your local game store or at renegadegamestudios.com. I know RGS will ship to the great white north, but I don't know about the costs. I hope this is helpful. Apologies for the slow reply. Thanks for watching!

I don't see why it wouldn't be. They sell lots of games to lots of people. If you are worried about it, you can find a local game store and buy it from them.

Jeez that seems pretty harsh assessment. I am glad to have it for sure! Getting both Anniversary and Global 1940 maps.
