Just bought the V14 today and ran 7km in them. I'm a bigger runner (6"4 220) and they feel pretty nice.

How's the fit gusset tounge?are they true to size ? I had to half size up in the v13. I also found the new 1080 way to soft in the heel I hope these have more pop with a firmer foam

I'd suspect the 29mm-21mm is only the midsole foam stack, not including insole and outsole thickness.
@io-rj6sk

yea why did they start measuring it like that? didnt asics use to do that but then they changed? why they make it more confusing for us? also when they do include the insole and outsole measuring hm MM does it usually add each? cant b that much rite?

@@io-rj6sk I don't know. It just looks like a thick shoe, and previous versions of 880 series are not 21mm in the forefoot, so in this time and age it doesn't make sense that they reduce it to 29-21. Usually outsole rubber thickness is around 2-3mm. Insole thickness ranges between 3mm (thin flimsy one) to 7mm (like powerrun+ insole in recent saucony shoes), but in average let's just say 5mm.

Always wondered if the Rebel is the permanent replacement for the Beacon or if they'd ever bring back the Beacon. The Beacon V2 had the most comfortable upper I have ever had on a shoe. The heel cup area was especially perfect.

@RunTommy123

@@io-rj6sk the Beacon foam would need an update. It was "okay" for the time. I would use it for runs 6-10 miles. It was just that the shoe itself was more comfortable and light than anything NB has now. The heel cup in the Rebel is too hard now and the 1080 is way too heavy for me.

Another low durability, super unstable middle stack high cushioning shoes from NB. I did not like the 1080, the instability, the low durability of the middlesole and poor rubber( great grip though) durability, especially in the heel area. This 880 v14 , NB 1080 v13 , More V5 and the Vongo v6 all looks the same and they seems to have the same bad rubber compound and the strange middlesole where it is way too soft half way from the heel to the beginning of the arch and them too form and no lateral movements preventions ( besided the Vongo) . I guess we are in a new era of making cushioning shoes even more wobbly and hard to be used to run a drun a lot before the shoes breaks up somewhere.

Just bought them yesterday and at the End of next week i will know better. Luckily i had the chance to test run them for a few kms and find them quite good (for me). The last years i ran the Saucony Hurricane and München 4 and for me the 880 doesn't feel super unstalbe, just a lot softer in every way. But like every new running shoe you have to give it a little time and every runner has their own style of running so its hard to make a general review. For me example, i could use your words to exactly describe my experience with one of the On Cloud models. So hyped by a friend of mine and when i tried them i could barely run my normal short round. But when i've read your comment I immediatley had the Clouds in my mind :)
