All the new motobikes Look shit now. And £25-30,000 for a motobike is ridiculous. And if you look back at the quality of the four Japanese motobikes and now you can't compare them, the old bikes were robust and strong Real quality. Now it's all just plastic crap stuffed with some kind of electronics that know one needs If we look back at the old motobikes from the late 90s to mid 2000, how great they looked back then - real GP motobikes for the street. The new ones just look ugly, like a Japanese Transformers comic book characters. They charge three times the price but only half the quality . Just don't buy them,

Hi mate 👍 one of my mates has some classic bikes , B S A (A6 ) ( A7 ) & a 250cc C15 sport all 1950s all well made with only what you need , I've owned a B M W K75c for 16 years it's 37 years old still going strong , not everyone's cup of tea but it's built like a tank and works 😉 do a service for about £50 , which is what it used to be about . 😊

This comment is absolutely spot on. Yamaha's whole range looks like a family of Transformers. Absolute shite. I have a mint SP2 that has ten times the amount of character and good looks over any new bike these days. No wonder 90s and early 2000s bikes are going up in value.

I can't work out how people can afford these car and motorcycle payments. I know someone paying £400 a month just on car payments - and they'll never own the cars. I don't get it. My FZ6 is as good as anything on the road today and cost £2000. I'll keep it for years and just regularly maintain it. I cannot see the point in buying a brand new bike.

Great to have you back doing regular videos Jim 😁 Agree on the prices, waaaay out of my league! Still, I suppose we should be grateful for the people who can afford them, otherwise we wouldn't have any used bikes for sale 😅 Looking forward to seeing what you've bought 😃

I wouldn't even have phoned that number. Used to be that the call was a big part of the scam. You'd call them up and get charged £20/minute and an obscene connection charge. Aye bikes are defo too expensive. My last bike was £18k! I'm going back to cheaper second machines these days. Decent ZRX or XJR, and I'll be happy with that.

After 20 years I got back into bikes, gsx8 s on PCP After 6 months it was off the road with faults for 6 weeks so the finance company rejected it due to bad quality. Got a refund thank god, never again Far too expensive to purchase, insure, service costs was ridiculous, terrible weather, pot holes, speed cameras and average speed traps everywhere (was in Wales when It switched to 20mph) I used to have grey imports but in the day gpz400r then xjr400r I'd love the new zx4rr and honestly £9000 is stupid money.

People are saying it's things like bike tech driving up prices but, what are they actually adding to the bikes? TC was pretty rudimentary in the mid-00's and R&D on that (plus wheelie control etc.) has only been building on top of that research bit-by-bit over the years, so it isn't like research teams have been working around the clock for the last five years to create TC as effective as it is in its' current form. Nothing justifies the cost. But it's like everything nowadays, mountain bikes included; companies work out what's "affordable" HPI for a 5-6 year term and price it accordingly, it has naff-all to do with what it's actually worth.

I'm currently still working my way through the early 2000s bikes so by the time I consider any of the current bikes they will either be cheaper or owning a ICE vehicle was get you shot.

The era of the liter bike is coming to an end, just look at the raft of law and regulation which is designed to basically destroy personal transport, and the new euro 5 + which is aimed directly at bikes, enjoy it while you can 😏

People struggling to understand inflation make me laugh. Some of the new bikes coming out today are the cheapest they ever been the New Ninja 500 is £300 cheaper than it's predecessor, the 400 was. The KTM RC390 was £4999 in 2014 today it's £5899 today, adjusted for inflation, in today's money, this bike is nearly a grand cheaper than it was at release and you get loads more for your money, you get a lighter, better handling bike with advanced lean angle sensitive electronics, same thing applies to big bikes too, the KTM 790 Duke, with a basically permanent sale ongoing is £7000 for god's sake, you couldn't buy a hornet for that in 2000... It's not the cost of bikes going up, if anything they are going down, it's people spending their disposable income on more shit than ever...

Adjusted for inflation, my lightly used 1992 Suzuki Bandit 400 cost me $7200 in 2023 dollars. My lightly used 2016 GSXS1000F in 2023 cost me $6500. My CBR600F2 cost me $12,000 while my 2022 XSR900 cost me $9000 a few months ago. Interestingly, that makes my former GSXS1000F the second cheapest bike I've ever owned, after an 80cc 2-stroke trainer bike.
