Nice marketing ploy by BMW to fit crappy suspension and then make repair economically challenging enough to encourage customers to buy a whole new bike instead 🤔 Congratulations on your new ride, here’s hoping it holds up better. It pigging well should do for the money they are charging. I totally understand the “feeling at home on a GS” aspect though, not to be underestimated ! Good luck with the new Beemer. I’m sure you’ll have lots of great adventures together. The Mini was more than happy to keep you two nice and dry on your trip to France, I’m sure ! Thanks for the entertaining update. Take care you two 👍 Cheers 🥃🥃 Garry & Ruby

Thanks for watching. It's a known weak point on them. Being 9 years old I had no chance of a offer from BMW of help with the cost. Let's hope its sorted on the newer ones. Definitely at home on it and looking forward to riding around Spain next year.

@@lipglosshelmetsandhim To be fair, nine years is a decent length of time and your bike does get used for more than the odd trip to the coffee shop, so I might let them off on this one 😛 Here's hoping that they've fixed the problem on the newer bikes without adding any new weak points ( electronics ? 😱 ). When you do make it over to Spain, hit me up if you would like some ideas for routes or a joint ride 👍🏻 It would probably be good for me to see how the other half lives 😂 Cheers you two, Garry & Ruby

After 3 GS's I bought a 2020 manual Africa Twin - Saved £8,000 in the process.. But would like to add another GS to the garage at some point in the future.. Just the BMW comfort level was better out of the box. I'm also in Southampton! New Subscriber.

Congratulations on the Trophy even although it was calamity which forced it's purchase. A lovely coastal area and seaside town, unfortunately they're all expensive as far as houses are concerned. So how did that work? Considering your old GS needed the best part of £3k worth of work on it, did BMW give you a reasonable price?
@lipglosshelmetsandhim
Жыл бұрын
Not a brilliant price. What they actually do is offer it around to dealers to get the best offer. That's the offer you get. Take the money I saved for the service, £500 dealer contribution plus BMW £1250 deposit and I ride out out the door with mo capital outlay. My luggage fits so that's perfect. Plus they swapped some charging leads over for me. Happy days. That's thanks to Ocean BMW Plymouth 👍

It lasted 37000 miles or 9 years. I didn't think it was too bad. The tip I was told is to make sure you adjust and run with different settings. I didn't really do that, I had it pretty much st in one position.

Ray, I know this man. He owns a BMW T shirt. Being the fashion conscious individual he is, he had to buy another BMW or change his wardrobe. Plenty of main dealer services are over £500.00 if work needs to be done, like valve clearances. I've certainly paid over that at a Yamaha main dealer.
