Loopers opened up a whole new world to me- anyone playing alone should do themselves a huge favor- get one and don't stop until you can use it efficiently. Their sis something about making real music instead of just sitting around noodling- it puts you a fast track to getting much, much better. Your timing improves, your creativity improves, but most of all- it's just a lot more fun.

There was more you could do with the rc 30. It has effects I like them. This one don't have. The sound quality it's almost the same. So there's is almost no improvement. They made a more expensive pedal, with less features. And discontinuing the good one. Ok I'm still keeping my rc 30. For the next ten years. As for the rc 10, it's an attempt to copy the digitech trio+. The boss Got better drum sounds ,. But the trio has 5 looping, drum part's. You get the Bass sounds .And it cost's less.

good video. I'm watching several tutorials for this pedal and I've realized that it has a bug when playing track 2, the first time it's played right after recording, a few tenths of a second of recording disappears, it's like it started late.... and I have seen it in other videos of this pedal. The truth is that I am quite disappointed because I have ordered it from Thomann. it's a shame 😔

Thanks for the great video. Pete's comments about the switches having high accuracy is spot on. I find the the RC-500 easy to use, super flexible, creative, and fun. My previous looper (was not a Boss) was much harder to hit the one. On the RC-500, seems easy to punch in and out accurately. Much easier time with seamless loops. So happy, highly recommended and way better than expected.

Thanks for your video - very insightful. I'm a bit bummed at the lack of different rhythm types. It's very Latin heavy. There's no reggae one drop or ska, Drum and bass, and no Country (really). I bought this pedal on a whim and wish i'd played through the rhythms before I pulled the trigger. Editable drums would be so so brilliant. I really hope there are are more patterns on a firmware update...

Mine didn’t want to boot anymore after just a week. Furthermore, there is no way to change the play and dub colors, making it hard for a color blind to see the difference. Boss doesn’t seem to support it well anymore. It was fun while it lasted, but the looper feels a bit dated tbh.

Hello Andertons, I have a question. The Boss RC 505 is no where to be found here in Canada. So i went ahead and purchased mine from Andertons UK your store. I live in Canada. I assume the AC ADAPTER will be what ever you guys use over there. Here is my question. Is it possible for me to buy a 9v ac adapter and use that? or buy an official CANADIAN ac adapter for the rc 505 and use it on the uk looper. Or do i have to use your weird ass cable lol and buy me a converter? If anyone in the comments can help that'd be nice to :)

I have simple question and hope I can get a simple answer. It relates to being able to switch to a different loop and have it play immediately with no delay. If that can be done I will buy this loop device. Let me use one of our songs, That's Amore as an example. I am sure you are familiar with it. The song starts slowly with the "In Napoli...." intro. For this we use a steady tambourine sound, just shaking the tambourine. When the verse starts we have a 3/4 time percussion loop we use since of course it is a Waltz. When the song gets to what I will call the bridge "when you walk in a dream but you know you're not dreaming signore" we need to switch back to the tambourine and when that is done and you get back to "scusa me but in old Napoli that's amore" part we need to switch immediately back to the 3/4 time percussion loop. I tried to do this with my R-5 and footswitch using 2 adjacent memory locations and there is an annoying delay when switching back and forth so It will not work with the R-5 (unless I am just not doing it right). Can this RC-500 do what we need done? We do not play this song this to a fixed tempo so when I need to make the switch to the needed loop it needs to be an immediately change. We do this type of thing with a number of songs. I might post this question on a few other review videos since I need an answer to this important question.

I played quite a few gigs with a shitty $100 looper. I can kind of make drum sounds by palm muting my strings and like raking the gbe strings. I could make it sound like a full band with a couple other pedals, octave etc. A lot of Mayer Hawthorne covers

When I route my inputs to outputs A (mic) and output B (guitar) I get a huge volume jump on playback. Can only use the pedal this way if i set the track volume sliders way down to around 10 (100 is the mid point or supposed unity). Really frustrating and no answer from Boss as to why it is the case. I think I’ll have to send it back, too frustrating to be useable without the input and the output being naturally matched.

Someone please tell me you can extend the length of the fadeout on this otherwise it's nothing more than a useless gimmick, I'm finding it only lasts about half of a very short loop, I tried playing the loop in for a few more bars thinking it may be a percentage of the overall loop but no, very disappointed if that's it's limit.
