How Alfa came up with this car out of nowhere is to me mindblowing. It's just a fantastic car and I hope it puts Alfa back on the map as a major competitor in this "luxury performance" segment.

agreed. i dont understand why the owner didnt just get the clear bra while in DC. i mean, if it still needed to be polished once its back in CT, just get it done before the drive and redone after. much better than almost ruining your paint.

Larry I just wanted to say keep it up and thank you! I've been watching your content since I was fifteen, today I'm nineteen, and I gotta say I wouldn't be nearly as passionate and crazy about detailing as I am today if it wasn't for you! it's become a passion and has surpassed just being a hobby. love your videos man, swear by your products. Also it kills me when you talk about how crazy you are and how everyone thinks your insane because you have a filtration system for your car care hahah I think this is universal to anyone who's passionate about detailing because I was told everyday by my family and my ex that I'm nuts haha 😂 doubt you'll see this but hey, you've taught me and everyone else here for a little over 4 years on this channel and I got to thank you man.

the final bit of advice at the end about telling the dealership "do no touch or wash my car" is very useful. I have dealt with paint correction on a brand new car because the dealer ignored the new owners advice and took it through a carwash. It looked like a bear attacked the paint. It was horrible.

You said a new car's paint should typically not need a polish - I feel different. Mechanics always leave marks visible for sharp eyes and I have seen that no paint is really that glossy or superb after being painted before it has been polished. A light finishing polish will pop the paint for completely different spheres! Very very few cars seem to be polished before sent out to customer - Even the new 150k Audis come with orange peel paint that has not been finished :( Great episode, probably 2010's best 4-door and interesting stuff about the tape!

Martisan They could come back because if the bonnet becomes even hotter than it was during the polish those lines can sink again. They probably came from the heat of the engine in combination with the tape. But you never know, maybe it's fixed.

I special ordered a vehicle, and the dealer actually put it on the lot when it game it...it had a deep, although small chip in one door (all the way to primer or metal) and a white paint transfer on another door. Of course my car was a mid-range SUV, in the $45,000 range, not an exotic sports car. I probably should have refused to take delivery...they did a somewhat okay job fixing those problems, but every time I look over it I find defects in the paint...bits of dust that got painted over etc. I am not sure if this is par for the course with average non luxury cars, or if mine just skipped the QC process because it was a special order. One of these days I will take it to a professional detailer to see if these defects can be fixed. Average people probably wouldn't give a crap, because these defects are only noticeable when you look right at them in specific lighting conditions...but quality control is my job, so they drive me crazy when I see them.
