EKG Technician Tier II
The EKG Technician Tier II program offers training in both EKG Technician as well as Telemetry Technician. Upon completion of this program, students are able to take the certification exams for both EKG Technician and Telemetry Technician certifications.
In the EKG Technician training, students will learn about nursing and patient care, HIPAA, and patient safety topics. They will also get an introduction to cardiology, electrocardiography, and EKG interpretation.
This tiered course also includes training in telemetry. Students will learn how to interpret over 30 rhythms so they can provide better diagnostic and assessment care to patients. This training also includes the study of the heart anatomy and cardiac cycle and how the cardiac muscles impact health.

EKG Technician Tier III
The EKG Technician Tier III program takes training even further. In addition to the EKG and Telemetry training offered in Tier II, this program adds IV Technician training. Students who successfully complete this program can receive three certifications at the same time.
This program, which can be completed in as little as ten weeks, adds the training necessary to be certified as an IV technician. These professionals know how to safely insert intravenous lines, and they also learn the common safety issues and complications that can be connected to IV treatment. The program includes a thorough review of OSHA and other safety protocols in relation to infection control. Students receive hands-on training in using IV equipment and the other devices necessary to insert and use IVs.
