On January 23rd 2024, The city approved a plan to build a mixed use building complex and parking garage in the Shoppes of Wilton Manors which is the parking lot of Alibi located on Wilton Drive and Ne 7th.
The site will develop into a mixed use building. With 252 apartments with great views of Wilton Drive and the neighborhood. Over commercial space all built around a new green space in the center that will join the new development community with existing Wilton Manors shops where hunters, alibi, and No manors currently reside. In addition the builder has taken on the task to update the front of the wilton manors shops to match the look of Wilma.
The developer now needs county approval, which should be finished in spring. Then comes building permits and inspections.
Wilma will take about three years to complete if everything goes as scheduled.
I think this was a huge achievement for the city by integrating new jobs, housing, additional parking, and a public green space to work along with already staple to our city the shops of Wilton Manors.
