Wow! I was just thinking about you yesterday and also today and wondered how you and yours were doing! I still miss "home" and you are my ONLY contact I have in Price Hill--- all the rest of the family is in New St. Joseph just a stones throw from the morning shadows of The Crow's Nest up at the end of W. 8th St. where the streetcars (i.e. up to 1951) would loop before heading back downtown. I used to walk over to The Crow's Nest as a child from Benz Av. on Thursdays to look at all the public works garbage trucks that would park along there at lunchtime. The Crow's Nest is still there today but the renowned Pasquales Pizza down at the corner of Pedretti is long gone. The only Pasquales left is over in Newport. The pizza was worth dying for when I was a kid. Erv, Thanks for the drive down/along "Memory Lane". I watched it to the very end and I never cease to marvel at all the changes in Delhi Township as well as Western Hills that have occurred there since the 1960's. It's kinda sad as there is no family left there except for maybe out in Harrison. Erv, Best of Luck with your career! I can really identify with what you are saying as our family had connections with Children's Hospital, Cincinnati General Hospital (now University Hospital) and the counseling profession out near UC. Sorry so lengthy. All the Best! -- John L.

Hello again, Erv! Thanks for the "heart" on my previous Comment. You mentioned "archive aerial photos" of the area during your narration. Maybe I can help you with firsthand descriptions of what was in your neck of the woods along W. 8th St.. History in your Backyard!..... Of course, St. William Church was always there and I remember the amazing tower church bells that would be rung on Sunday mornings before the "pre-Vatican 2" (Latin) Masses. Another prominent edifice along W. 8th St. would be the Thesken Supermarket located at 4500 W. 8th St. at the corner of Pedretti Av.. It is now a large vacant lot. The supermarket was there for over sixty (60) years and you can see the store building on older Google Street Views before it was razed. My grandparents shopped there regularly when we still lived in Cincy. CORRECTION: The Pasquale's Pizza was located in the building on the NE corner of Overlook Av., not at Pedretti. The first Pasquale's Pizza was on Queen City Av. back in 1954 and my dad would go there "religiously" before the one opened up on W. 8th St. in Price Hill. I wonder if the only-remaining Pasquale's over in Newport KY is still as good as what I remember as a kid! I hope so!.... There was a really cool corner convenience store located on the NE corner of Pedretti across from Theskens Supermarket where I would go and buy comic books and monster movie magazines..... On Overlook Av. just up from where the cell tower is was a SOHIO (BORON) gas service station that my grandpa would go to..... Regarding the Cincinnati Transit streetcars that once plied W. 8th St. up to 1951, when I was little, you could still see visible parts/remnants of the streetcar tracks up at the Nebraska Av. loop where the city had repaved over it. I wonder if those streetcar tracks are still there "buried" under the modern-day street paving! I hope this historical info of your area helps! Sorry so lengthy. -- John L.

Just because you mentioned the viewers pointing out inaccuracies - New Development in DELHI 🤣🤣 Love seeing you back Erv. Even though you don't have time to do research, I hope to see more videos like this where you just informally talk about whats on your mind 👍.

HELLO ERV!!! It was an absolutely gorgeous day!! I can imagine the commitment of time required to do a driving video. If I may suggest for consideration, 2 LONG drives for a beautiful day, each would probably take 2 hours. ONE IS, take 75 north to NORWOOD LATERAL EAST to 71 NORTH. Get off at KENWOOD. Begin video. Turn left/NORTH on KENWOOD, drive to HARPER'S POINT/STATION. Turn RIGHT/EAST to drive through LOVELAND to the old business district. There is a walk & bike path, and antique shops there. Tons of restaurants, especially at HARPER'S STATION if you make it a family trip. That is a nice drive to see a lot! To exit LOVELAND you can take 275 to 71 SOUTH to NORWOOD LATERAL. ANOTHER IS, Take 75 SOUTH to FORT WASHINGTON WAY to COLUMBIA PARKWAY. From there, you can do a short trip, or a very long trip. SHORT is stay on COLUMBIA PARKWAY to check out MARIMONT, named after MARY EMORY (EMORY THEATER). LONG is get off at BEECHMONT, take the long drive out BEECHMONT past LUNKEN AIRPORT, through MT. WASHINGTON past Water Tower out past FIVE MILE/BEECHMONT MALL (if its still there) through ANDERSON to AMELIA. Tons of restaurants and things to see! Coming back, you can take SALEM down to KELLOGG past opposite side of LUNKEN AIRPORT and see Cincinnati's only school on stilts in a flood prone area. From there, you can take either EASTERN or COLUMBIA PARKWAY back towards downtown. I think there is a FARMER'S MARKET by LUNKEN AIRPORT still, I think on Wednesdays. As busy as you are, I imagine these trips are too much. Being disable, I really enjoy the driving videos! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS TO PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES AS AN ENTREPRENEUR!!! There is so very much I'd love to chat with you on mental health. Among them, I don't think most adults realize how radically different young people's lives are because of social media. I think many American companies fail to value and appreciate their workforce, which can cause a young employee to question or doubt their own value. I just learned 2 days ago there is a OCD related to religious beliefs, a "fear of the end of the world". Erv, 3 years ago I saw it! I was in rehab. A nurse, PASSING MEDS, shared with me she considered murder suicide (her and her children) to avoid the hell of Armageddon during the hight of COVID. She would ask if I (a patient) thought she was crazy (HER WORD). It broke my heart what health care workers endured, and many still endure wearing masks trying prevent spread of diseases to patients. Their stress caused many I know to quit health care careers, and the same with teachers. These two immeasurably vital communities of workers, too often unappreciated until needed, deserve better! I'M SORRY ERV, I DIDN'T MEAN TO WRITE A BOOK. Just happy for you, and to see another ERV DRIVE video.
