You know what's the biggest difference between Pakistani youth and Indian youth. An Indian youth doesn’t have to be a brigadier's son and go to William's to end up at Goldman. They may be very well from a small village like you are working to provide clean water to, yet end up at their IITs and IIMs and from there go to places like Google, Amazon and Goldman.

While the guest is very insightful on many subjects and is a humble person, his views on the global financial order are from a rather short sighted lens, and repeating the classical mistake of thinking from the paradigm of the status quo, looking at the US dollar as a perpetual safe haven (and in turn US being the foreseeable hegemon), which is a fallacy that is already being challenged. But can't blame him, either it is his Goldman Sachs groomed economic mindset speaking here, or he is deliberately giving a reserved perspective on the future of the global financial order that doesn't put him in an uncomfortable position professionally. FYI, Russia has effectively ditched the US dollar and Chinese hold the leverage on so many aspects over the US economy. And the US is responding with military posturing against China (a bit like an injured bear, e.g. Aukus defence deal, policy on Taiwan, etc), so a bit like how the US puppet set-up in Afghanistan collapsed rapidly beyond anyone's expectations, I fear the same might happen to the USD. Btw, US investment banks such as Goldman will never give a true forecast of what's brewing on the horizon for this global financial system, as the sustenance of the Federal Reserve/USD as the world's reserve bank/currency ties directly with their interests.

One thing Pakistan can do is to provide decent broad based education from K -12. In the past 30 odd years this is one thing that has been totally destroyed and handed over to private elite for profit education companies! Talk to the neighbors and control out of control military budget. Yeah you have some leverage with atom bomb but it’s also a liability at the same time. This also applies to the neighbor with 7 times the population with abject poverty.
