I appreciate that you know all the details about your rig. 😊 So many other tubers either dont know jack about their horse or pretend to not care - "my mechanic donnit, I dont know!" Its the Yang to your Yin, the mechanical extension of your body to exercise the greatest sport of all! It deserves a certain level of interest and intimate knowledge! 😅

Jono!😎 As youtube's only fashion designer & mountainbike aesthetic enthusiast, I must say that the color setup on your rig is approved. Good detailing placing the orange lil' decal on the rim to catch up the full color scheme. If you'd add a copper-ano chain it would connect your drivetrain to the Kashima & orange parts on the frame. Or possibly even just an orange wire-cap for the shift cable. Over and out //Style Police🥸

That's sick that the medium size can run full 27.5. That's what I want for my loam rhythm trail for popping in and out of corners.

Got back from a 5 day bike park trip with my friends. They're on 29" and me 27.5" ... I'm the best rider out of the group, but they definitely handled tech trails better than me. While I'm carefully choosing my lines and constantly taking weight off my front end, they're just pointing downhill and riding. Different story on berms though, and what I loose in straightaway speed I make up for in maneuverability. Plus it's easier to throw around on jumps and IMO a lot more fun.

Bit of an odd question but how do you have your SPDs set up Jono? Do you run cleats with single or multi release? For such rough terrain I feel like you'd need to be running them to be as locked in as possible but equally when things are slick I guess you need to be able to get your foot out when you need to.

Kinda surprised to don't run Deathgrips, seems like most of the UK (racers at least) run them, due to being friends with Bren and/or possibly getting them free. I'm happy enough just paying for them, but you legit prefer the ODI?

I count eight "chuffs"? Here's my favorite chuff: 8:17 Curious about the OneUp carbon oval section bar - I run a 31.8mm Spank Vibrocore bar as a way to get some edge taken off the front end chatters, as 35mm bars always seem to stiff. Seems this might be a cure for all the 35mm bar harsh reputation out there. Be interesting to see how your more upright positioning does for you over the race. Nice bike setup!

I've been looking at these but alloy Is there and pros/cons of carbon over alloy apart from weight? Good luck
@LastAphelion
Жыл бұрын
pros and cons with compliance and stiffness. I've seen some people say they like the carbon version of a frame over alloy for feeling less flexy/noodley (they'll claim the bike feels more snappy and direct to handle) while maintaining good compliance against chatter, this is model/brand dependent and gotta do your research. You can make carbon too thick and not compliant, just like you can with titanium as Ive heard some titanium frames get made too thick and end up transmitting more chatter than dampen. Lots of hard thrashers will say they like knowing their alloy will never break on them but I've seen so many snapped alloy chain stay stories too so I dont think one is necessarily always stronger. Think most important aspect after liking how it feels, is finding a good company warranty, some have infamous stories of refusing to replace (evil carbon snapped chainstays), or warranties are only a few years long, others have lifetime warranty
