@@rayro999 simple solution repower with what’s available in the future it’s definitely not gonna be electric. It’s gonna be something else. Be interesting to see what the future brings. I believe the future is hover cars like we’re on the Jetsons or super size drones for us to transport ourselves around in because the new European emission standards were require particular measuring devices to measure the rubber and other micro pollutants coming off the tyres. The other solution of course would be just to get a couple of horses tied up to my vehicle and go and drive it like a horse and car 100 years ago. Why I say the future is not electric is because there was not enough copper in the world to produce enough electric wise to increase the recharging points around the planet or even in the UK and then increase the production of electricity by other means other than coal and other pollutant systems like nuclear energy. Plus in their parking area we're 4 brand new Skoda EVs with the delivery wrapping still on and all were 24 registered. Can't be sure but are they registered to sell as used and fudge the government EV targets - probably. every manufacturer is hoping they will be one of the ones left standing and one of the others will fall. That would mean one less player in the market chasing the same number of customers. No one is going to be the one to volunteer to go under to save the others, so it’s a fight to the death. The market for new cars peaked a few years ago (it may go up again in the future), plus new manufacturers, such as the Chinese, have appeared on the scene as well. Basically, for whatever the reason, there are more cars available than customers who can buy them. It’s not sustainable. The same thing rolls on to the dealers, tied or independent. EVs have not helped Manufacturers either as those who do ICE and EV have to spread their purchasing, manufacturing and training efforts. That’s not cheap to do, and not efficient. BEV only manufacturers gain an advantage here as they don’t have the ICE manufacturing to pay for BUT they also have the disadvantage that they can’t access the market who can’t or won’t buy an EV. A very messy and unsettling time to be in car manufacturing or sales. It doesn’t seem possible that everyone will survive.

The suicidal business model... Why are the big discounts only going to fleet operators ??? I know sheer volume they shift, but in the long run it accelerates the bubble busting as I'll explain... Dealers are falling over themselves pre-registering EV's to be sold at a major loss in 3-6 months time (Why not sell it now to public at a heavily discounted price & only lose half the amount, that they have to write off in 3-6 months time) Fleets are buying more & more & more EV's at heavily discounted prices (to fleets only) which the discount keeps increasing... That means the figure/percentage of EV's sold (in one shape or form is increasing month on month according to figures) At an auction house there are say 150 EV's going through this month Next month, 160 EV's (coz more EV's were purchased by fleets 3 years ago) Next month, 170 EV's (coz more EV's were purchased by fleets 3 years ago) You see the pattern emerging, the fleet sales of EV's kept on rising exponentially etc... Say 40% of those EV's fail to reach the reserve/CAP price, so will be sold at an even lower price With each month, the figures increase - which will impact the final sale price of future sale prices next month Which will impact the list price of new vehicles, which in turn will effect the next batch in the future The snowball effect, a tsunami building out at sea... Only it isn't just one snowball/tsunami, there's a bigger one behind it, and an even bigger one coming next month, and an enormous one a month later etc... Most people who wanted an EV have already got one, (Some of which have decided to return to ICE/Hybrid's, but say a generous 90% have kept their their EV's) Now there are the undecided customers, who if they do decide to commit may only be a small percentage of possible sales Most existing EV owners are hesitant about purchasing another additional EV or upgrading (Myself an EV owner was considering another run around, but extra EV insurance & depreciation/revenue - what is the point ?, yeah I'll wait n see type of thing - nope not buying/tempted) After that, you have the motorist who really struggles to see how an EV could ever work for them: Lives in a flat/no off street parking/drive to charge, travels hundreds of miles & can get there & back without refuelling let alone trying to find a rapid charger to pay more than diesel to refill whilst waiting an extra 30-45 mins longer recharging Meantime, they're trying to fudge the numbers, hide the surplus EV's they registered, can't sell the ever increasing used ex-fleet EV's hitting the market each month - all driving down the price of used EV's which in turn drives down the price they sell brand new EV's mainly to fleet operators for enormous depreciation when the eventually go to auction Until the bubble bursts, there will be a almost non-stop line of ever increasing snowballs/tsunami of used EV's at auction houses, driving down, month after month the whole price range of EV's - including new fleet sale prices "Fire Fighting" as in business, you deal/fudge this months figures, rather than accept/address the real issue causing those ever increasing fires

Yes, electric vehicles are going to be much less expensive than gasoline cars. That's why you lease them during this short period of time while they find their true value. Also this is a window that's only open from the second year through about the 6th year. After that the difference in price drops to a few thousand dollars and is insignificant. It has always been true that the second you drive a car off the lot it loses 25% of its value. Put for a little while, the value drop on electric vehicles will be more extreme. So either lease or buy because your intended to keep it at least 7 years.

@@ohyesitsme no, there are electric vehicles on the road over a decade old. Look, I own an old Honda element. I'm doing a lot of research on electric vehicles. They are a solid option that's likely to save me at least $1,000 a year. And given that I have the property for a small solar array, it's likely to be closer to 1800.00 per year. The main issue with electric vehicles right now as they are still too expensive, and ironically, that the price on electric vehicles is dropping faster. It's very likely within 6 years that electric vehicles will vastly outperform gasoline vehicles in every measure. I'll still probably keep my Honda Element for 2 to 4 more years. But the cost of keeping it on the road is over $2,000 a year now. On the plus side electric vehicles have destroyed 1% of gasoline demand. Which is dropped the price of gasoline in my area to $2.39 per gallon.

All these EV fools really think Electricity for charging will be cheaper, but look at the price now, I forecast Electricity for the home and EV's will cost far more, there will be no special discounts for charging your car at home, that benefit will go away, its the oldest trick in the book, Bait n Switch.
