The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) officially opened its newest visitor center to the public Dec. 12, 2023, at Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.
The exhibit space was designed to follow a sequential narrative that highlights the vital military campaigns and battles that took place in the vicinity.
The experience of thousands of American service members who fought and perished during these operations are described through their hardships, challenges, and triumphs.

The American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC) operates and maintains 26 cemeteries and 32 federal memorials, monuments, and commemorative plaques in 17 countries throughout the world, including the United States. Since March 4, 1923, ABMC’s sacred mission remains to honor the service, achievements, and sacrifice of more than 200,000 U.S. service members buried and memorialized at our sites.
