I picked up the new x32 tonight and went out to give it a go. It splits like a dream. I was skeptical about it being that much better than my old blockbuster, but it really is a great axe.

Same axes with minor artificial design changes. We want better heat treatment. We want an improved connection between the axe head and handle.

What's been happening so far? I've owned and absolutely abused, pressure tested, sent in to wood with no restraint for years now, 8, 10, 12+ years & own from the small camping hatchet up to the largest log splitter Iso Core maul, the heavy axe not featured here I have never had a single problem with any of them I have split year after year of firewood for my home

Are they still manufactured in Finland? The website mentions they're "Designed in Finland" which tends to suggest they're made in china - hope not...

Maybe it's just because of the angle but to me the new blade looks just as high as the old one. Seems like Fiskars saved some material on the lower edge. Maybe the wedge shape became wider but at the same time the new head is shorter. I don't believe they made it all for comfort, usability and safety.

Still prefer the x27 over the new x36. The increased angle is not an advantage to me, in bought the x27 because of the low angle.

Интересно, сталь новая? Или только форму переделали. До этого сталь была очень мягкая! После работы лезвие все как стиральная доска. Если тут лучше то хорошо.

This channel sells them online but only makes available to UK. Seen other sites for Australia and one has language I couldn't even recognize. So guess if your American your last, they gonna purge rest of old stuff on us a while till maybe we're one day privileged to by like other places are now.

Is the X36 the direct replacement for the X27? I went to buy an X27 today but there were none in stock, just the X36. I ended up buying one, but want to confirm it’s the new replacement for the X27 before I use it.

I wonder why I can't locate the X32 on the actual Fiskars website 🤔.

If you're looking at Fiskars US/UK site, that would be why. They're not currently (and possibly won't be for quite some time) available from Fiskars US or UK. For what it's worth, Fiskars Finnish site has had them listed for over a year. They're great axes, the little changes add up to a significant improvement.

Hello, I was planning to buy 2 axes. I will only use it for camping and picnics. In my mind it was x11 and the other one was a big ax for my arm length. Which ax from the new series would you recommend to me instead of x11? My second question is, do I need models such as x5, x10 and x7? Do you think 2 axes, one big and the other x11, and 2 size camping knives plus a saw would be enough?

Dear Hakan, The Fiskars X11 is a great allround axe and can split store bought firewood and 20 cm trunks with ease. If you're looking for the newer version I would recommend the X18, which has the same handle length as the X11. If you pair this with one knife for making smaller firewood and feathersticks and a saw to cut pieces to length I think you're set for a lot of cosy fires!

X11 is/was a splitting axe. In fact, X18 replaces X10 which are both allrounder axes but will be just fine for camping. Next smallest splitting axe in the Fiskars line is X24 with S blade but, of course, it has a longer handle. Honestly, if you're already planning to buy a big axe, too (like X25/X32?), I assume a smaller axe like X7/X14 would be sufficient.

I own an X18 (and several X10's) and can confirm it's what you're looking for. Probably my favorite backpacking axe at the moment.
