Fun fact: IR could be found in your remote control or any other electronic devices in your daily lives. If you are smart enough as a electronics guy to adjust ir light and ir laser to their maximum.

Is there a way to take it apart or disassemble it? If so, what do the soldering connections look solid, or do they need some work?

I noticed the Illuminator beam/pattern at 8:05 is very uneven, one side is brighter than the other. Is this after zeroing the illuminator, or is it always uneven to one side?

Do you know if the electronics are potted?
@rdsmith334

I haven't been able to find an answer from anywhere, but I highly doubt it. But if you can take it apart, you can clean up and reinforce the soldering yourself and then pot them yourself. There's a thread on AR15.com about folks doing it.

@@han6211 i used them in the Infantry extensively. A real one will shine about a 3" circle at 300 yards. Not an 8" circle at 20 feet.
@han6211

@@realtyrocks1969 interesting, seeing that they have adjustable illuminator divergences, and a PEQ-2 has a 10° illuminator divergence, which at 20 feet would actually be 42 inches. I can't imagine how you could aim under NODs at 300 yards with an illuminator (not aiming) laser, with an illumination cone of 3". Which would actually be the proper divergence of an AIMING laser, not illuminator. But cool story dude
