This is the another video in my series “New Forest Wallks” accompanied by my Whippet (Logan). In this episode I stay local (the walk is not far from my home) and enjoy one of the loveliest walks in the whole new Forest area at Rockford.
Starting at the edge of Rockford Common, (where Logan has fun having “Whippet Zoomies” in a disused sandpit!), I look at the Moyles Court Oak - one of the oldest oak trees in the New Forest. My 4 mile circular route then takes my on a footpath (part of the Avon Valley Path for a while) beside Blashford Lake and then two other lakes.
I then follow a quiet country lane, lined with spectacular bluebells, that takes me high up on to open heathland at Bigsburn Hill and then on to Rockford Common where I get to experience some quite stunning 360 degree views of the area.
