I operate trains for a living, the amount of times ive almost hit someone because they are too entitled to wait is way too much especially in the last month. At the particular crossing mentioned they lowered the speed limit from 95 mph (150km/)to 50 mph (80 km/hr) and the trains have to sound their horn through the crossing. Anyways no amount of noise will stop an idiot from being an idiot.

I don't know how people can live near tracks and not expect to hear loud noises, but in America and I believe Canada, we have railroad administrations that require if a grade crossing is not a quiet zone that they must do a long, long, short and a long through the crossing. However, GO Transit and VIA rail use special horns that when pressed with the normal horn button, only plays 3 of the chimes, and when the emergency horn button is pressed, all 5 play. In other cases, the locomotive has 2 separate horns.

One thing they could do is add barriers that cross the entire road surface, closing in sequence with a longer lead time. To make it less annoying, have the crossing bells shut off once the last barrier is down.

Let me make this clear to all the negative people This film location was chosen as the background, Tamra lives 10 minutes from here. We are hearing trains blast their horns 11 times in a row at 1 am. This is not normal. An intoxicated woman abandoned her empty car on the tracks that's why the NEWLY emplimented train horns blasting It will stop when a formal safety review has been completed They have the normal arms and bells like every other crossing and they never blared their horn at any other crossing Obviously safety first but there's nothing different from this crossing to all the others they pass and don't signal with their horns
